Loosening trousers

I've got a few pairs of trousers which are just a smidge too tight. What's the easiest way to loosen them? Button and zip fly...

If they're tight round the waist you can buy waist expanders on Amazon. Its basically a piece of elastic with a button.

Hair bobble looped through button hole and thread through itself then loop free end round button .
Or when they are wet stand on the waistband with both feet and pull like mad !

Can you sew? There is a brilliant video somewhere that shows how, but it involves removing the waistband...
