Facial epilator for chin hair

EleanorLavish · 27/07/2019 22:03

My mum is nearly 80, and absolutely hates chin hair.
I used to wax it for her, but she prefers plucking etc.
I was thinking of buying her a facial epilator, does anyone use one? Any recommendations would be great.
Or alternatives!
Thanks.

Can you afford ipl or laser hair removal? Admittedly our local salon is cheap but it's about £100 for chin (several visits) or you could buy one (not cheap - about £400 now but you could use it for yourself too?)

I've had an epilator before - it bloody hurts but it's effective. Get a good one though, I've found cheap ones hurt more and don't work as well

Yes I use my Braun silk epil on my chin and the rest of my yeti face it is effective, much easier than one of those springs, and you don't need to have good eyesight or a steady hand. The first few times sting though, and the top lip is excruciating.

Party I have a Philips Lumea but I thought they didn’t work on grey hair? Or any laser actually. Is it possible to use them in grey hair? I’m off to google.

No, just googled, it doesn’t work in grey hair.
Thanks Pippi, I used to have an epilator so know they hurt! Ouch.

Would she cope with an epi-stick? Basically a threading tool, couple of quid from eBay/amazon

I also have a braun pen - bought from Boots on sale for £30ish. Sounds exactly what you need

(Sorry hadn't processed she had grey hair)

I have a Braun Face Spa and it's great. Easy to use, not too painful, gets really short hairs.
