Help me with my bra size please

Currently wearing a 36B but it feels too small. I've tried 34C but dont really fill the bra. I dont think I've ever seen a 38B. According to my tape measure I'm 32 Inches under my bust which means I'm supposed to add 4 as it's an even number so that's a 36. That bits fine but Around the front of my bust I also measure 36 inches which would make me AA cup, which I'm definitely not. I'm not big busted at all and I'm size 10-12 on my top half so I cant see how i could need a 38 band.

I've been to m&s before but never seem to get the right size from them. Where am I going wrong!

You're a 32D.

You don't add inches anywhere. That is old-fashioned lunacy.

dementedpixie · 27/07/2019 20:10

No, don't add 4 to the back size. 32 is your back size if that is what you measure. 36 over bust would make you 32D

booborbust.com try this

Sexnotgender · 27/07/2019 20:15

Don’t add inches! If you’re a 10/12 then you’re most likely a 32 back (dress size plus 20).
I’d say you’re probably a 32D too.

Wow quick response thank you. I have never even considered trying a D cup. I'll give it go tomorrow

I know it's not modern or particularly feminist to be hung up on boob size...but I'd be lying if I said I wasnt a little bit excited about this D cup 🤣

dementedpixie · 27/07/2019 20:20

Remember not all D cups are the same so a 32D wil be smaller than a 36D as cup size is directly related to back size.

dementedpixie · 27/07/2019 20:23

Try the Boob or bust site as it will give a good indication too

Tiptopj · 27/07/2019 20:42

Thanks for the link @dementedpixie its saying 32D as well.

I know what you mean OP we are fed the assumption that certain cup sizes are glamour model territory when actually everyone just used to guess they were a 34B and never consider getting measured!

I now know I'm a 30DD and it changed my day to day comfort level SO much getting properly measured after years of half filled cups alternating with overspill ones.

Get yourself measured and try on LOADS, you'll probably find a particular store that particularly suits you individually, Victoria's Secret and Calvin Klein seem to fit me best which is annoying as they're not the cheapest!

Good luck on your boob quest Smile

dementedpixie · 27/07/2019 20:47

I used to wear 40C but now wear a 36GG after measuring properly myself

Tiptopj · 27/07/2019 21:21

Absolutely @ThatCurlyGirl and how much incorrect information is out there! I typed 'how to measure bra size' into google and the majority of pages told me to do this adding 4 for an even number or 5 for an odd number thing
Today is Reason 183 why I love mumsnet

Agree with the boob or bust calculator - M&S and Debenhams are shockingly bad at measuring correctly, definitely try going to either Bravissimo or a local independent shop to measure you properly, I couldn’t believe the difference!
