My observation from today: if you want to look good, keep away from nasty polyester...

I think this applies always but was particularly evident today in the hot weather: all the women I saw today who looked good were wearing cotton/linen. Saw some lovely cotton dresses on women of all sizes and ages. I have concluded that cheap polyester never looks good.

Viscose generally better than poly but some viscose is more better than others.

If you want to SMELL good, stay away from the polyester!

Viscose is a natural fabric. Also known as bamboo.

I really don't like linen! I'd never ever buy it. But then I'm not an ironer.

Some viscose is horrible and scratchy like poly, some creases like a bastard and the nicest is soft and cottonish. Even in the same shop, it varies widely.

Viscose/rayon is man made but from cellulose usually - more recently they've been using bamboo as the raw material for the cellulose! It is a lot more breathable than plastic fibres like polyester. I'm finding so much maternity wear to be viscose and that's ok as it's stretchy and comfortable 👍

Polyester is difficult to avoid...and washing anything made with it is adding to the pollution problem...polyester is plastic (some is made from recycled bottles)...when it’s washed, where does that plastic infested water go? Too small for normal filters. And it’s not just the inexpensive market using it...I ordered some dresses from mid range, Jules, Mint Velvet, they use it too! Cheap to them, expensive to us. Fashion is one of the biggest polluters on the planet. If you can buy quality but less of it

Viscose and Polyester are not the same - viscose is breathable and quite nice in the heat.

Ha ha ha. Oh how I laughed! I don't find it breathable at all. Nor is it nice. Within 5 mins of putting something on that is Viscose , my forehead and back are running i sweat - more than Polyester. Tencel and Lyocell as well - whatever they are.

If I had worn vscse on Thursday - I would have melted away.

Viscose makes me boil. And cotton jersey can be too hot as well when it's really hot.
