For heaven’s sake....I’m old!

Ok. So all of a sudden, I look old. My eye sight is going so, I thought I was doing ok. When I leave the house in the morning I think I look ok. However, I’ve recently had a few impromptu photos taken outside, in broad daylight and Jesus...I look terrible.

I’m 57 so, I KNOW it’s only a matter of time but even so, my usual facebases are looking heavy and showing wrinkles I didn’t know I’d earned.

I’ve got Chanel Les Beiges and Laura Mercier Oil Free TM. So, do I just except it’s OVER and start to disappear from public life OR... is there anything I’m missing?

I saw a photo of Aliza Reger today (Janet’s daughter) and thought of you when I saw her hair.

You definitely suit longer hair.

For heaven’s sake....I’m old!
MissKittyBeaudelais · 30/07/2019 22:11

@Soola, her hair is amazing. And lovely complexion.

You've got bloody brilliant skin! You remind me a bit of JK Rowling (after her millions) and she suits long hair.

EnidButton · 30/07/2019 23:58

Just seen you have fibromyalgia too. I have that and I'm 20 years younger and it makes me look dug up some days so your skin is extra impressive!

LucheroTena · 31/07/2019 07:42

I also think you suit long hair. It suits you more than those shorter styles you posted. But I would go a bit shorter than you are now. It will drag features down less.

DameDoom · 31/07/2019 18:23

Your skin is great - it looks supple and well-cared for.
I have Profhilo to give a bit of natural age-appropriate lifting and loads of plumping and love it. I used to have Botox and fillers but stopped that as it didn't look modern and fresh anymore.
Your features are elegant and I do think your hair would be lovely a bit shorter. I think an expensive buttery blonde would be amazing on you - with a bit of a tanning drops glow.
Wearing pearls did bring luminosity to your face too so get your studs back in.
Do not grimace into sunlight and take photos either!

MissKittyBeaudelais · 31/07/2019 19:32

@DameDoom, I wear pearls a lot. Most days.

I’d love to go really light with my hair but hairdresser always says it’d be too much in terms of upkeep and condition.

I like these...

Thanks for photos. I remember you from all those years ago when you posted. I was and still am envious of your blond bob.

DameDoom · 31/07/2019 22:44

Your hair looks really strong and healthy - Olaplex treatments in-salon when you get your colour would allow you to go lighter without detriment to the condition.
You do look great though and any 57 year old would be bloody thrilled to come close - even with shocking lighting and a grimace Wink.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 01/08/2019 22:25

@Milliy, thanks. I loved the bob but couldn’t get it tied up for work very well (nurse). @DameDoom, I’ve read about Olaplex so will ask before I go light with colour. Does it really help with condition? When I was very blonde the highlight was bleach and it was a sod to comb through at times.

Fascinating thread. Does anyone have a link to facial exercises that truly get results?

tomtom1999xx · 02/08/2019 07:02

Placemarking

Unburnished · 02/08/2019 07:35

Firstly OP, I think you look great. You have beautiful light / warm colouring and fantastic bone structure and you’re very attractive.

A few things you might like to try:

  • retinols
  • regular facials, inc. neck & hands
  • a bb or cc cream in place of foundation
  • cream blusher
  • lip gloss
  • LVL lash lift
  • HD brows or microblading (go a bit thicker)
  • fillers in lips, temples and the mid-face, plus jaw
  • frownies & the forehead equivalent
  • baby lites around your face
  • long hair suits you but try a long side-swept fringe or face-framing layers
  • face aerobics (Australian YouTuber)
  • Ultherapy
  • clean diet

Hope that helps!

Hi millionaireshorty if you go to Eva Fraser website (evafraser.com)there is a free video on the home page where she lifts her neck and brings up her bottom line over her top lip. Then you smile . That was the first one I found and it really helped with jowls and cheeks. But you need to hold that smile for about 15 seconds and repeat about 20 times. Not just a few. Can’t seem to paste link though. I actually found that exercise written somewhere long b4 I saw that video which is why I did it for longer. But it works. I noticed a good month after I started doing the exercise that there was a difference.

Ohee · 02/08/2019 09:01

I meant bottom lip

Ohee · 02/08/2019 11:16

I worked out how to paste link.
Here’s some more (the one I talked about above is the ‘les dawson’ for obvious reasons!: www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-3128619/amp/Forget-Botox-Pull-funny-faces-beat-wrinkles-s-natural-way-years-bay.html

I personally think long blonde hair past a certain age looks ageing and like you're desperate to stay young and attractive. The Bob looks fantastic on you.

Blueandredandblue · 02/08/2019 21:27

I have long dark wavy hair, am in my 50s, and it looks great. What exactly does it make you "look desperate" for?

withlotsoflove · 02/08/2019 21:48

I don’t think there is actually anything wrong with being desperate to stay young and attractive anyway yes
You sound a little old fashioned?

MissKittyBeaudelais · 02/08/2019 22:27

@Ohee, so many suggestions! I can’t do injectables of any description. As I said further upthread, I’ve had full on anaphylactic reactions (blue light to the hospital) three times in the past. Still have an Epipen so no, Botox and fillers are out. Microblading isn’t for me. I used to have my brows tinted and had a few bad results....walked about like Groucho Marx for three days. If it was too much/went wrong/badly done, I’d regret it massively. I’ve bought a Nyx brow fibre mascara and it has made a difference so, that’s fine.

Will look further at Eva Fraser. Thanks for the link.

@yesthatstheone...you k ow, I don’t want to stay young. You can’t. No one can. What I’d like, is to not look tired and cross. Think that’s what I said. 😊

@Soola and @HundredMilesAnHour. I got the Utan Skin Idol. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong but it’s very orange and THICK on me. Do I need to mix it with something?

OP posts:
Soola · 04/08/2019 18:05

@MissKittyBeaudelais it’s not remotely orange on me! It’s a greyish brown with no reddy tones.

I’m half Asian though. I wear on its own only when I have a dark tan and I mix with a little primer or moisturiser and blend blend blend.

It’s great with foundation as you need a teeny tiny amount to add and again you must blend blend blend. It makes my skin look airbrushed.

I buy art palettes to mix products and then only apply very tiny amounts in small dots over face and quickly blend.

Skin idol is one of the best products I’ve ever bought so I’m sorry if it’s not working for you but it’s worth practising to get the right coverage.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 04/08/2019 18:51

@Soola... I intend to make it work! 😉
