They just feel a bit sore. First time I've had them in years and don't remember this from before.

Mine are always sore when it's a new set

ShirleyPhallus · 24/07/2019 22:07

Mine starting doing this, then the skin started peeling a bit and they tingled

I’m pretty much allergic to them now. It absolutely sucks, they’re so much more convenient than normal varnish!

Had mine done by the Chinese shop a few weeks ago, they was stinging like buggery whe they put them on... I dont think I'll go there again

Is it a brand new set that's tingling while it settles or have you maybe bumped them to make them sore?

scazlackabumdiyay · 24/07/2019 22:26

Shirleyfallas the same thing happened to me. I can't wear them at all now and my natural nails are awful'

ShirleyPhallus · 24/07/2019 22:31

My nails are completely fine again, I’m actually gonna try normal polish with gel top coat and see if that works...

It's a new set! The pain actually feels worse but I don't know if it's just because I'm focusing on it. It's very much a bruised feeling. Taken some paracetamol and fingers crossed it settles overnight!

It means the nail technician has buffed away too much of your natural nail before applying the fake ones. For example they should never use a drill on the natural nail.

I've had this with gel nails. It felt like when you get an infected wicklow on every finger. Couldn't sleep because of the pain. I removed them the next day and assumed I must have been allergic. It felt like my fingernails were lifting.

QueenEnid · 24/07/2019 23:10

I have had this too. I tend to get it more when they're just that bit too long when they're growing out. It bloody hurts!!!

Greenolivesorblackolives · 24/07/2019 23:24

It could be that they are a bit tight, being a new set.
You could be allergic but in my experience (beauty therapist) it’s more likely to be due to over filing of the natural nail.
