Small boob problems!

Echobelly · 22/07/2019 18:57

Lighthearted thread for the less well-endowed of us. I always see a lot about the problems of big boobs, and here's a new range that goes up to whatever size, but I hear less about those of us at the other end of the scale.

My pet peeve is that I can't wear wrap dresses or shirt dresses most of the time because my small boobs are not matched with a small waist - their either gape on the top, or don't fit around my waist.

Also, when I was breastfeeding I went up to 30C and found that most 30-back bras didn't go above B cups.

What are your small boob problems?

I am less well endowed than most people. But they're ok with me. I am very particular about bras. They have to have form to them. Not in a ridiculous push up way (because that tends to mean they're squashed together and the outside curves are too squashed in. Wacoal Intuition Push Up works for me - but i guess it all depends on boob shape.
I wear wrap dresses, but I do have to pin them!

My only real pet peeve is that i have to be careful with low cut tops. If they gape, then I'm at real risk of revealing everything as bras don't always sit so close to the skin. Anyone with a solution for this (outside of breast augmentation)?

Osquito · 22/07/2019 20:02

Watching for advice & recommendations!

Yes to pp re bra gaps! I understand a perfectly fitted bra should not gape in the cups but I think that’s a lot to do with breast shape/fullness/roundness?
Also: I’ve been told (innocently, by v close gfs) that I don’t even need to bother with a bra, can carry off the carefree natural look... what they don’t know is I have tiny pointy boobs with eternally-pert nipples of steel. Not a subtle look at all. Padded, gaping bras it is.

XingMing · 22/07/2019 20:51

You lucky so and so!

Stumpedasatree · 22/07/2019 21:02

I am small sized (6-8) and a 30 inch chest or maybe more a 28, and a B-C cup I think. I just bought these crop tops from M&S, they're mainly for my work from home days as I prefer padded T shirt bras when out as they boost my shape a bit. But blimey they are comfy!

My fave bras are actually the teen range from M&S as they are soft, comfy and cotton and fit really well, but obviously I am not going for the sexy look! My prob is gaping cups too, and difficulty in finding something that fits well.

Thinkle · 23/07/2019 06:40

Having to subtly squeeze the water out of my padded bikini top every time I get out of a pool.

(And wrap dresses, bloody ‘lovely on other people’ wrap dresses)

Echobelly · 23/07/2019 10:30

I used to wear M&S teen bras quite a lot!

This is reminding my I need to buy DD (11) some crop tops as she's starting to find running around doing sports stuff a bit uncomfortable with her boobs developing. I have a suspicion she will end up bigger on top than me.

There are things I'm thankful for- generally not worrying too much about showing cleavage, 'cos you don't have any to speak of! Grin

No one talks to your boobs rather than your face

Not having to wear underwiring

OP posts:
AxCap · 23/07/2019 11:01

Yes @Thinkle re the bikini top! I have to stand and squeeze the towel against my non-existent boobs or the top stays soaking for hours Grin

I'm a 28 DD and find I can't wear wrap styles or anything too low cut as I've nothing there to keep the top in place.

GreenTulips · 23/07/2019 11:05

Tit tape is your friend with the gapping tops

SallyWD · 23/07/2019 11:08

I find a lot of dresses don't work as they're designed for a more ample cleavage. There's nothing worse than having baggy empty material where your boobs should be! However I'm pleased I won't have large droopy breasts in old age.

Skyejuly · 23/07/2019 11:16

Oh yes at squeezing water out of padded bikinis

PeanutButterIsOneWord · 23/07/2019 11:46

I love crop tops instead of bras. It's my fave thing about small boobs. Bras are so uncomfortable.

Echobelly · 23/07/2019 12:59

@SallyWD - I find Warehouse is the worst culprit for having dresses/tops all cut for bigger boobs!

OP posts:
Frazzlerock · 23/07/2019 13:52

Finally my people!

I would love to have bigger boobs, and have been waiting patiently since puberty for them to grow. I'm not 39 and still waiting.
Even have two children didn't make them grow. and they are crap because they don't produce milk so pointless having them really.

Yes to gaping tops

Yes to dresses never fitting properly because the shops assume that if you have small tits you must be small all over Angry. I'm a 12 but 12 dresses never fit my chest.

Yes to bras never fitting properly. The Bra Intervention Method is better than any shop fittings, but its not perfect. How nice it would be to fill a bra. Sigh....

Frazzlerock · 23/07/2019 13:52

*now, not not!

Skinnychip · 23/07/2019 19:16

I have quite small boobs but no waist so i go straight up and down. Fitted dresses are usually a struggle to do up at the waist and then have room for several chicken fillets at the bust!!

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/07/2019 19:22

@SallyWD.
Yes!
I have to wear a vest top under some lower cut tops/dresses and they look fine but Dd can wear them as they are and look great with her cleavage, when mine is just non existent.

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/07/2019 19:26

I swear by Hollister racer back bras, comfy, nice and do a good everyday job of creating a bit more boobage.

Echobelly · 23/07/2019 20:01

I've always been happy with my small boobs overall though, never bothered me. I do feel sad when I hear women with larger boobs than me saying the have 'bee stings' or their boobs are 'non existent'. I have on the whole been a 30/32A and I've never felt they were invisible or flat

OP posts:
MonsterRehab23 · 23/07/2019 20:01

Good thread. I’ve always been very small chested however I’m larger everywhere else Sad. I need to lose weight however my boobs are the biggest they’ve ever been at almost a B cup. So not the biggest incentive to lose weight Grin. I agree clothes are made for bigger boobs. If I had a proper pair I’d never put them away Grin

BiBabbles · 23/07/2019 22:16

I'm generally happy with my chest and body in general, but had an awkward moment earlier today with the tanktop I was wearing giving more than a bit exposed gaping when I bent forward while dealing with my shopping delivery. I only noticed after the 4th or 5th time I'd bent forward to move stuff from the crate to the bag Blush

I can't really wear any tighter (especially not in this heat!) and I do find the wider collars of tank tops more comfortable, but they do seem to be cut expecting far more chest to hold it in place it seems.

Echobelly · 23/07/2019 22:22

Literally the only reason for me to want bigger boobs is that it'd make me better proportioned and clothes would fit better (eg I love corsets , but for a full length one I'd have to get it custom made as standard ones will always be gaping around the top). I have never felt they were unattractive or 'not enough'

OP posts:
GreenTulips · 23/07/2019 22:22

Never really needed a bra when younger and would often nip out in just a T-shirt, talking 1980s with big armholes.

Sat at traffic lights man next to me starring, gave him an evil look and continued.

Got home and the seatbelt had shifted the T-shirt and there I was bare Boobed!

Learnt a lesson that day.

Nosquit · 23/07/2019 22:42

I’m a 34B cup and totally agree with dresses!! I’m a size 12-14 trouser and a 8-10 top! So dresses are almost impossible to find! I was in a show last year and had a custom made Victorian style dress - I wanted to keep it simply because it fitted and made me look like I have a figure!

For bras - yup to the bra gape, though I found one in the Anne Summers £10 sale last month that fits like a dream. I had a VERY happy DH that evening!

CrazyCatLady159 · 23/07/2019 22:49

I thought I had small boobs - when I measured using boob or bust method I realised I had been wearing the wrong bra size all my life ..... went to a 28F - made wrap dresses etc look a whole lot better!

Granted I'm still not massively happy with having small boobs but a better fitting bra has helped Grin

DeRigueurMortis · 23/07/2019 22:53

As a teen I hated my ballerina breasts.

Now (in my middle age) l love them - and for a decade before that.

I don't, nor ever have had back ache from frontal weight.

They still look pretty damn good if I'm honest - well there wasn't a lot to to sag but they are still very pert if I say so myself.

I can wear a push up bra if I want but tbh most clothes look better with a normal bra.

Going braless in hot weather is not a problem (ignoring nipples!!).

I'd not swap for the world now, especially having spoken to friends who are more well endowed.
