Slit in leather on Prada bag?

Apologies for the very stupid question (I’m new to this nice bag stuff!) but is this slit in the leather normal for a Prada bag? And if so, what is the purpose of it?!

It’s the Galleria Saffiano bag, I bought it off Vestiaire which is why I’m questioning it. It looks too clean cut to be just damaged, but I’ve looked on Selfridges (www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/prada-galleria-medium-leather-tote_139-3005868-1BA863VOOONZV/) and the Prada website and can’t seem to see any similar slit.

The slit is in the top left corner of the front of the bag, to the left of the Prada logo. It’s about 5cm long.

Thanks in advance!

Yes it's supposed to be there. It's for keys - if your bag has a lock then it's for the keys that come with the lock. Otherwise it's for any key that you want to attach to the removable key chain. Bit pointless and I don't think they make them like that anymore.

Ah perfect, thank you so much! I would never have guessed it was for keys but now I feel like I should put some keys in there Grin
