Fixing a stuck zipper?

I have a pencil skirt that I used to wear to work, until the worst zipper fiasco. The zip not only popped open whilst fully zipped up, it’s also now firmly stuck in position. Can this skirt actually be saved??

Both sides of the skirt are stuck in the zip, and the zip won’t budge up or down at all. Both DP & I have forcing it open to no avail, in fact we’ve probably made it worse! Any advice would be appreciated!

Sorry, but your skirt has had it. Unless you are prepared to cut out the zip and replace it.

Take it to a repair shop & get them to replace the zip. It won't cost a lot & it'll save your skirt. Don't try it yourself unless you know what you're doing.

Yes an alterations business will replace a zip. Some dry cleaners do it too, or they know someone who can. I had one done recently, think it cost £12.

Please don't get rid of a perfectly good skirt because of a broken zip, as PP have suggested it really won't cost much to have the zip replaced :)
