Am I mad to be in love with this shoes?

I found them last year and wanted them but they were expensive and a bit rediculous but I haven’t really stopped thinking about them and now I decided I would buy them I can’t find them for sale anywhere.

Are they hideous or am I right in wanting to hunt them down?

If you've wanted them for that long then I say get them when you find them. I wanted a blouse as a teenager from a limited edition Topshop collection, but couldn't afford it at the time and missed out. After ten years of eBay searching for one that wasn't 10x the original price I got my blouse, new with tags! It's a bit of a marmite item too, it has a moth and star print, but I love it and have worn it a lot. Set up an eBay alert for whenever a pair is listed to give yourself the best chance, good luck!

I think you should go for it! I wouldn't have the guts or the feet to wear them but would admire anyone that did.

Does anyone else think Irregular Choice are just taking the piss? I can maybe understand the attraction of the "plainer" (ha ha ha) styles, but these are just a joke surely? And a very expensive one at that.

In the words of my DH when I'm dithering over something unnecessary "Buy them by all means, but you'd better bloody wear them."

Totally crackers but I say go for it if you love them! If you can find them, that is. I guess you'd have to wear a very plain, sleek outfit so it would be all about the shoes.

They're awful, but I have a proper aversion to "quirky" clothes and shoes on anyone over the age of 10. I would expect to see something very similar on Widow Twankey. I also think they'd get scuffed and sad-looking very quickly!

Irregular Choice used to do interesting, slightly out-there, often beautiful unusual shoes.

Now I think the designers are on drugs.

NB I'd say the above are the interesting old-style IC shoes as opposed the hideous creations they do now! In case that wasn't clear.

My only pair of going out shoes is some green IC ones very similar to those in the third picture Petrichor just posted, only they're fake snake and don't have pictures on the side. I've had them for about 15 years and they're still comfortable. They did used to make slightly unusual but still very wearable shoes that were different enough to stand out without making you look like Su Pollard. I have no idea why they're now so keen on the pantomime dame look!
