Tunics and?

I don't like wearing jeans and trousers in summer. What can I wear underneath them? I've got a pair of shorts I wear for when it's really hot. Can I wear a skirt under tunics or is that a definite no-no? Also, what shoes?

Cropped leggings if the tunic covers the bum.

Sorry, didn't see your reply, I guess it depends on what the colour of the tunic is but I think white is fine.

From a fashion point of view, leggings are a no, especially cropped and defiantly white. From a comfort pov go for it!
