I've completely run out of perfume.

Don't particularly like heavy, woody or spicy scents.

Not into rose-based fragrances.

Done Jo Malone to death and want something different.

Enlighten me.

Thanks.

Rituals do great perfumes or try penhaligons iris prima

growlingbear · 19/07/2019 08:26

I currently love Eccentric Molecules 02 'Gin & Tonic' - it's unisex and has a gorgeous very fresh botanicals smell. I prefer it to Jo Malone.

Mixingitall · 19/07/2019 08:28

Coco Madamoiselle or Aqua Di Palma rose magnolia

MorrisZapp · 19/07/2019 08:29

I think you have to choose between head turning and fresh! I love clinique happy for a summer perfume but it's light and pretty rather than omg you smell AMAZING.

For that effect, you need something a bit heavier. I use Kheils Musk Oil in winter but it probably won't fit the bill.

Good luck!

I always get complimented when I wear mademoiselle coco and Prada Amber

Enjoy your scent shopping!

Pinkarsedfly · 19/07/2019 08:30

I get a lot of compliments when I wear Narciso Rodriguez Poudree.

BeaLola · 19/07/2019 08:45

Always get complimented when I wear Knowing by Estée Lauder - friend tells me it smells fresh ?

Complete strangers comment on it and not just in uk

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 19/07/2019 08:47

I love the original Stella perfume by Stella McCartney. Also like Miracle by Lancôme. And Daisy by Marc Jacobs, which is floral and light.

gubbsywubbsy · 19/07/2019 09:08

I wear tommy girl , pretty much every day people tell me I smell nice .. I have a terrible sense of smell so stick with it .

Fresta · 19/07/2019 09:15

A perfuming will only be head-turning if you choose something strong which leaves a trail and smells quite different to what everyone else around you is wearing.

Try Alien, Boudoir, Soir del lune, Portrait of a Lady, Feminite de Bois, Fracas, Teint de Neige. These are all really great, might be an acquired taste to some, but will get you noticed!

Chanel Chance is my choice of perfume, it is the only perfume that doesn't waft away within a few hours.

AuntieMarys · 19/07/2019 09:52

I love some of the Byredo perfumes...Biblioteque .
Also Molecule

teta · 19/07/2019 10:26

Ormonde Jayne ?
A niche parfumer with a selection of light floral, citrussy often Asian influenced scents. You can buy a box of samples to try at home .
Look on the Fragantica website for the perfume reviews . Or if you are near London I would recommend a trip to Bloom or les Senteurs . Bloom also sell sample sets of perfumes grouped under a common theme if you want something unusual.

Thank you so much for your suggestions. x

I've just started wearing the original Flower Bomb by Victor & Rolf and had lots of compliments.

haverhill · 19/07/2019 13:12

Coco by Chanel (not Mademoiselle).

thisenglishlife · 19/07/2019 13:21

If you want a sexy, head turning scent then you need jasmine and/or tuberose.

Something like:
Bond No. 9 (maybe Chinatown or Saks for Her)
Gucci Bloom
Guerlain (maybe Shalimar)
Lush (Lust or Sikkim Girls)
Mugler Alien

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 19/07/2019 15:32

I second Chance by Chanel

Ellapaella · 19/07/2019 16:52

I agree Knowing by Estée Lauder.
I'm afraid Alien always turns my head but in a bad way - it's a big marmite you either love it or hate it and it's so strong it makes me feel ill when I smell it.

jacquesl · 20/07/2019 08:25

If you love JM, have you tried Jo Loves’ Pomelo? It’s Jo’s own brand after she sold JM to Estée Lauder 15 years ago, and Pomelo is such a sharp citrus scent. Her description on her website is "this is the perfume that people stop me in the street to ask what I’m wearing" and I thought "hmm, yeah right", but people actually have stopped me! It’s definitely the nicest citrus scent I’ve tried, and it lasts all day!

Beebumble2 · 20/07/2019 16:39

An oldie, but haunting fragrance, Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue.

cloud1183 · 20/07/2019 16:48

Byredo bal d’afrique
Hermes Un Jardin Sur le Nil

But if you want compliments without spending a lot

D&G Light Blue
Marc Jacobs Daisy
Dior Joy

littlepeaegg · 20/07/2019 16:50

My everyday is Viktor and Rolph Flower Bomb.

FortyFacedFuckers · 20/07/2019 16:53

Out of all the perfumes I have ever wore the one that always gets commented on is YSL Black Opuim

Blueandredandblue · 20/07/2019 17:40

Chanel Allure
Marc Jacobs Daisy
Chanel Coco
