Could I have your opinions on these platform trainers please?

I want something that looks casual and is comfortable, but I am short (and a bit overweight at the moment) so without the extra elevation, I look shite, no matter what I wear. In my late 40s. Hit me!

My opinion: they are awful and don’t even flatter tall, slim types.

princessbear80 · 19/07/2019 07:10

I think they’re quite nice. If I’m being picky, I’m not to keen on the turned up sole at the front. How about these platform superga instead?

However, if you like them, go for it!

princessbear80 · 19/07/2019 07:10

*too

megletthesecond · 19/07/2019 07:11

No! There's a reason they're in the sale.

Lauren83 · 19/07/2019 07:15

I agree with PP I like them but not the turned up front

feathermucker · 19/07/2019 07:17

Prefer the ones without the turned up front.

Plump82 · 19/07/2019 12:55

Puma do nice platform trainers that are light weight. Superga are so heavy and the platform ones weigh a tonne!

HundredMilesAnHour · 19/07/2019 13:02

Dreadful. They look like orthopaedic shoes rather than platform trainers.

EarlyIntheMorning · 19/07/2019 17:06

Linky Plump82?

There's a few styles but my favourites are baskets. I have an all white pair and a black pair with gum soles. These are nice www.soletrader.co.uk/puma-basket-platform-reset-trainers/pplatgrm/

Plump82 · 19/07/2019 17:35

Damn just noticed theyre out of stock. Just Google Puma Basket platforms.

roothyb · 19/07/2019 17:48

These Adidas ones are smart!

EarlyIntheMorning · 19/07/2019 18:20

They are nice trainers for sure but don't give me much height...

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/07/2019 18:24

Oh those Adidas ones are lush, I need them.

Thiswayorthatway · 19/07/2019 18:24

What size are your feet OP? I have big feet and similar styles don't suit me.

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/07/2019 18:24

Sorry OP, I'm not keen on the ones you linked to.

cheeseheaven · 19/07/2019 18:26

Check out the Superga flatform espadrille xx

PolkadotLollipop · 19/07/2019 18:28

They aren’t as bad as I was expecting. Your thread title conjured up images of Baby Spice horrors.

small2018 · 19/07/2019 19:24

I don't like them

Plump82 · 19/07/2019 19:56

Those Levi ones are really nice!

MontanaSkies · 19/07/2019 20:54

Hmm... I think they would look ok if worn like in the pictures, with bare, tanned.ankles. Also with a 'fashion-forward" outfit. Otherwise they do look a bit orthopaedic.

Pipandmum · 19/07/2019 20:56

They look like orthopaedic shoes.

EarlyIntheMorning · 20/07/2019 09:46

The Levi's ones are lovely but they'll get dirty so quickly. A leather equivalent would be fab, pref in a blush/beige tone. It looks like a 4cm platform is quite feasible to achieve a casual look but not look crap.
