What is your HG Purple Shampoo?

I have used Fanola (which smells good!) I have used Osmo. Both are fairly potent. Neither really ‘do’ it for my hair, no matter how I use them (diluted, mixed with conditioner, as is) I’m always left with a blueish purple tinge to my hair.

Are there any better out there I need to be trying please?!

(Psst, any good conditioners too? Have used Olaplex in past...)

Thank you!

I've been using the Lee Stafford one - it's fairly cheap but the best I've used.

breakfastpizza · 18/07/2019 20:46

I use John Frieda sheer blonde shampoo and conditioner. Keeps the brassiness out.

Jjbay · 18/07/2019 20:47

Fudge purple shampoo for me

MrMeSeeks · 18/07/2019 20:54

I have osmo, however i much prefer a touch of silver as osmo seems to damage my hair and really dry it out.
I tend to use a blue spray now rather than shampoos, which is so much better and doesn't dry my hair out.

damnson · 18/07/2019 21:00

Blue spray? What is this @MrMeSeeks I live on purple shampoo but hate how drying they are.

I've tried them all, fudge is the best IMO however still drying

Summerfalls · 18/07/2019 21:02

I use Provoke touch of silver purple shampoo and conditioner and also L’Oreal elvive purple shampoo and conditioner. Provoke one can be more drying if used too often but smells amazing so I use that less often and the L’Oreal one between.

nitgel · 18/07/2019 21:03

What's hg ? I use the lush purple shampoo

nespressowoo · 18/07/2019 21:05

Touch of silver here. It works a treat

LolaSmiles · 18/07/2019 21:05

I use loreal purple shampoo and/or Bleach London's shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is great if put on dry hair for 5 mins first.

MrMeSeeks · 18/07/2019 21:40

This is the one im currently using, ive tried a few, but they got hard to come by!
I found this on ebay when i had quite brassy routes before i changed hairstyles, it’s worked better than my osmo too!

Roots* dear god, it’s time for bed Hmm

flybyes · 18/07/2019 21:45

Fudge. Just follow with a good conditioner.

MrsSpenserGregson · 18/07/2019 21:48

Provoke touch of silver shampoo, and Davines purple conditioner (which I buy from my hairdresser) both keep my bleached strands from going brassy. The conditioner is a proper moisturising conditioner, really creamy and lovely, and doesn't leave any purple tinges.

Overtone purple conditioner (I use the pastel one, but there are three different purple shades) is absolutely wonderful if you actually want a touch of purple in your hair. You have to buy it online from America so you'll probably pay import duty on it. www.overtone.co

MrsSpenserGregson · 18/07/2019 21:50

This is the Davines conditioner. Sorry, it's actually called Silver conditioner, but it looks purple! www.davines.com/collections/conditioner/products/alchemic-conditioner-silver

Destinesia · 18/07/2019 22:35

I like the Charles Worthington Violet Toning Mousse, you apply after washing and conditioning, its a leave-in. I've also looked at the Josh Wood shade shots but haven't tried them... yet. Boots sell both.

AndMyBirdCanSing · 18/07/2019 22:38

I recommend Bleach London Silver silver shampoo

SweetAsSpice · 19/07/2019 13:48

Thank you all, lots of good recommendations!

Yes I just hate how drying they are too, I’ve tried a purple hair mask before, but obviously did sweet fa!

i just use a normal shampoo and follow with EVO fabuloso platinum conditioner which is amazing. You can get it from look fantastic. Best product i have ever found for banishing brassy tones

Puppylucky · 19/07/2019 18:33

I've just discovered the white hot range and the brilliant shampoo is lovely. It's not drying and it has optical brighteners that really make my hair shine

LolaSmiles · 19/07/2019 18:39

I read that you're not meant to use silver/purple shampoo every wash.

I use the Bleach London one every other wash / once a week depending on hair condition.

Hair oil once or twice a week works well for keeping hair soft.
