Top Shop - sizing

Why did none of you tell m,e they did size 18?? Shame on you! I had to find out for myself!

Ok I will forgive you, but can you tell me if the sizing comes up small (which I suspect). I must admit I was looking at a top in a store which had a top shop in it (not a top shop itself) and did not realise at first I t was a top shop top!

I doubt I would really be able to fit anything but out of curiosity i will look online. Probably loads of viscose /other crappy material but hey ho - worth a look I guess!

Whilst Topshop goes up to 18, you won’t find many 18s in stock in store. Like size 4s, there are fewer units of these sizes in comparison to size 12 (etc) to correlate with buyer demographics. So you’ll be best off shopping online, you can also try Tall as a Tall 18 will be a bit bigger.

Ah, thanks for the reply. Mind you the stuff I have lOOked at is Viscose/too short tops/frumpy dresses (that look good on young'uns only!).

It is just that in my teens I longed to wear their stuff. It wouldn't fit then anyway and I couldn't afford it then either. I am old enough to remember Strawberry Studio that they used to sell and wanted.

I guess I should just grow up and forget it!!

Blimey if you should grow up I probably should too - 47 & wear a lot of Topshop (because of the lack of tall clothing brands as much as anything). Can’t comment on regular height clothing but the tall stuff doesn’t come up small - their sizing is fairly accurate. Go for it OP!

It's small. I'm 40 and TopShop is still my favourite shop where I buy most of my clothes. I'm a 10 in most high street stores but definitely a 12 in TopShop.

The sizing is generally small.

I'm a 12, occasionally a 14 in most shops; but recently liked a black cotton broderie button front mini dress in Topshop. I could only do the 16 up over my (G cup) chest.
I felt a bit embarrassed as I had to order in a 16 but actually the shop assistants at my local Topshop are all my size or bigger.

Ironically I then bought a kimono for the beach from Topshop in a 12!!

And i have a white cotton skirt from there in a 14.

So basically it just shows that you have to try everything on.

I remember wanting their stuff as a teen but couldn't afford it.

Now I'm 42 I'm a care assistant so still find Topshop pricey on my wage. I only buy items that I really love that will last.

Depends what you are comparing the topshop size 18 to and your body type. If you have curves ie big breasts / hips / thighs with a small waist, you will need a bigger size (and run the risk of it being too big around the waist) because they cater for a straighter shape. The one exception is their Joni Jeans - those are perfect for curves but a size 14 is usually the equivalent of a size 12 in some shops.

. If you have curves ie big breasts / hips / thighs with a small waist,

Deffo curves but no obvious waist - an apple in fact so perhaps I should only seek out anything baggy!!

Thanks for all your replies.
