I'm off to NY for a week in August and am after some advice on decent shops, specify areas to wander about age what to bring back that's good value.

Ive been before but stent gave enough time to get any shopping in. Thanks all.

Thanks everyone, I'll reread in a few weeks once I'm getting ready to go. Shame about the poor EX rate though.

I'll be doing more sightseeing than actual shopping, this was just a curiosity to ask if you all.

Got back from New York a couple of weeks ago. The only bargains we found were in the (huge!) Jersey Gardens Outlet mall near Newark Airport (we had half a day to kill before flying home). There's no Sales Tax in New Jersey, unlike NYC.

Bath & Body Works, we can't get that here unless you pay through the nose for eBay or facebook sellers.

Madewell and Old Navy are worth going into, Madewell is more on the expensive, but higher quality side, can get some good buys in Old Navy, I love their winter long cardis.

I do hope we get a US trade deal, I send for Madewell and Old Navy items and the taxes are awful!

Shopping is a big a part of a holiday for me as sightseeing is, love shopping and especially if it's something different.

Madewell is available at John Lewis and Zalando!

And we already have a trade deal with the US by virtue of our EU membership. Perhaps you're thinking of a free trade deal, which the US will only offer if it benefits them.

Sam Edelman pumps which I can't get in my size here. I usually ship in from Nordstrom so saved a bomb.
And Naproxen Grin

I was expecting state of the art beauty departments, instead all were slightly downtrodden disappointing Croydon Alders from the 80s.

Oi! I used to love Allders! - Mum got her bed cheap there. Used to love their bargain basement!
