Roots / blonde highlights!

withlotsoflove · 17/07/2019 08:01

I have a full head of very blonde highlights on very dark brown hair.
My hairdresser is excellent, how she has managed to get it like this is quite amazing...
Anyway, l have it redone at the 8 wk mark...a couple of weeks before that ( though) it starts to look horrible at the roots!
What can use to just mask the line?
I know it’s bit tricky as it’s trying to blend dark : as opposed to grey roots.
Is there a product better than my dry shampoo?
Thank you all! Smile

I have highlighted mousey brown hair, with some greys dispersed. I get highlights every 6 weeks. Full set of highlights, then a T-bar or half head the next 2 times, then back to full head. It's annoying and expensive to maintain but I do like it. 8 weeks is probably just too long to wait unfortunately.

You can get coloured root spray L'Oréal do one, but I find it messy. I get my highlights done 6 weekly.

Thank you both! Appreciate it.
I get full head/ then half head... maybe six /seven weeks would be better!
I just discovered colour wow do a root touch up with really good reviews.
I’m not sure if l should try the blonde/ or platinum?
It might just take the edge off?

I've never used a root touch up so can't advise. I'd imagine you'd need a lot to cover dark brown though. You could try a low light? One darker colour low light for every 2 or 3 blond. It would break it up a bit, and might help with regrowth, while still being blond.

I’ve tried that - unfortunately the low light is so ‘off’ my natural dark roots, that it still shows up!
Thank you though...
I’ll be s better blonde ( l suspect ) when l go grey/white as l can colour then highlight!

Greys blend in better when you have regrowth, so they do have some advantages! I'm nowhere near the stage of nearing an all over colour and then highlights, but I'm dreading it tbh. It always looks too warm/yellow.
