Anyone else got that spotty Zara maxi dress?

Mine came today because I’m a sheep.

I was expecting to send it back, but it’s actually fabulous.

Comfy, cool and it looks great with a pair of trainers. I’m actually thinking of getting another, because it’s white and I’m bound to knacker it.

what dress is this?

MinesaPinot · 17/07/2019 09:31

Actually, I love it - one of the girls in our office was wearing it yesterday and it looked great.

I'm going to get one, and I don't care if someone calls me a sheep - baaah Smile

Come and join our spotty flock, Pinot

I had this one from TopShop - similar but short sleeves and v neck. I sent it back as I just found it too shapeless. Probably would have looked okay with a tan leather belt round it. I like the Zara one, but not buying it as I don't think it did much for me tbh.

I think that looks lovely on you, Ella

I do have a penchant for the Amish look, though.

The @hotforthespot instagram account is really funny.
I’m 5ft2 and I have it, it’s amazingly comfortable and (I think) flattering. One of those dresses that seems to look good on everyone, hence its’ popularity.

Hollycatberry · 17/07/2019 11:49

I really want it but keep talking myself out it... I think it looks lovely on all the people I've seen. I'm just not sure how I'd get on with a white dress. Wish they did a few other colours, navy would be fab!

Pinkarsedfly · 17/07/2019 12:30

Yes, I was looking at the Instagram account this morning. Made me smile.

Mine arrived yesterday- I'm currently wearing it with a pair of Alexander McQueen lookalike trainers - I love it. Don't care everyone has it!

MissBridgetJones · 17/07/2019 12:45

@Pinkarsedfly me too; size 14, went for a large

I generally find dresses like this are not terribly flattering on 34E chest... but this is fine!

MinesaPinot · 17/07/2019 13:26

MissBridgetJones Brilliant - I'm the same size as you and I was trying to decide between a L and an XL.

Pinkarsedfly Just finishing off my lunch in work and I will then be ordering and joining the spotty flock!!!

CheckingOutTheQuantocks · 17/07/2019 13:48

I suffered an attack of FOMO after reading the other thread about this dress, so I went to try it on the other day. I'm a chunky size 14 but the L looked properly huge, so I tried the M. Well... I don't know if I somehow picked up a dud one, but the waist seam wasn't straight and it didn't sit right - it seemed to bulge outwards so it looked like I was pregnant. It was far too large to be flattering. I did not buy it.

It was a real shame because I hated the whole skintight bodycon thing that was fashionable last year and I really wanted a comfy summer frock that wasn't short, low-cut, or clingy. This one was a move in the right direction but it needed to be less baggy round the middle.

georgialondon · 17/07/2019 13:53

I can't buy it as I live in central London and I see several every day! I do like it though Smile

georgialondon · 17/07/2019 13:56

It looks so bad on the website compared to how it looks in RL.

IhaveALooBrush · 17/07/2019 14:06

I love that topshop one.

LucheroTena · 17/07/2019 16:43

It doesn’t seem to suit anyone! Awful high necked shapeless sack. I could maybe see a size 6, 6ft tall long haired hippy just about getting away with it.

Alsohuman · 17/07/2019 16:57

I’m 5ft 2in and it’s perfect maxi length on me. I absolutely love it, it’s cool and comfortable, can be dressed up or down and even be worn back to front.

MissBridgetJones · 17/07/2019 17:12

Can't be that bad - had two compliments from strangers this afternoon!

MissBridgetJones · 17/07/2019 17:13

@MinesaPinot

Happy to be of service! X

Viviene · 18/07/2019 10:39

Zara dresses are crap. I love the design, I hate their quality (or the lack of thereof). I bought five this summer. Two went back immediately and the further two developed holes after washing so they went back too.
Never again.

LookStupidInEverything · 03/11/2019 04:33

Is this colourway out in the UK yet? I’m in Australia and it’s not a ‘thing’ over here so there are lots at my local Zara. I looked stupid though. Size 8 and wearing a S and it’s still very loose. Didn’t try XS but that may have been better. Like my username says though I look stupid in everything Sad

ilovecherries · 03/11/2019 07:29

You don’t look stupid, and I would say the size is right for you - that’s how it’s meant to fit. But if you don’t like the dress, that’s fine as well.

AgnesNaismith · 03/11/2019 07:33

You look lovely in that!! The style is supposed to be loose and relaxed, which for me is the beauty of it!

I dyed mine a smoky grey, still wearing it often!
