Does anyone use CT magic cream?

I bought a highlighter and was given a sample. My skin is normal/dry and usually in good condition. I've always been loyal to cheap blue Nivea.

This stuff smells lovely and feels lovely.

Versus my £3 tub is it really worth £48 ? What do regular users think?

I don't like heavy skin care like retinol and acids - I use Clairins gel cleanser and toner and hydra then blue Nivea usually.

None of you?

No, I was going to say, just by Nivea! It’s not great and not worth the money. I do like CT makeup. Just not this.

Lazybonita · 16/07/2019 17:27

I have just started using it. I like it, I think my skin looks good.

withlotsoflove · 16/07/2019 18:01

It’s a waste of money in terms of doing anything productive to your skin!
However,if it makes you feel good - then splurge!
So much shit in life - when you find something lovely, just enjoy!

See this is my thinking, that nothing short of surgery will work. But it smells nice

I have the magic day cream and the night, the day cream is ok but the night cream is 100x better and my skin looks and feels much better for it. Can't put my finger on what exactly but I'd give it 5/5 but the day cream about 3/5.

whotheeff · 16/07/2019 20:40

No I wouldn't buy again. Too rich and too fragrant for me. Much prefer my beautypie skincare. I think CT is branded hype - so expensive to cover all those overheads.

Tartyflette · 16/07/2019 20:42

I find the day cream quite 'stiff' and not very moisturising on my dry, mature(!) skin. I'm not keen on the scent either.

Tartyflette · 16/07/2019 20:52

Actually I recently splashed out on the M&S luxury brand 'formula' in the navy blue pots, the sleep cream and the day cream with SPF 20. I like the feel of it on my skin, it's a bit lighter than the CT magic cream and so far I am happy with it.
The two creams gift packaged together came to £40.

whotheeff · 16/07/2019 21:03

@Tartyflette I love these too and Sali Hughes has recommended them in the past.

Imanamechangeninja · 16/07/2019 21:07

I think you would be much better off buying a good Hyaluronic serum for moisturising and either a retinol or glycolic product for skin tone and glow. They don’t have to be heavy, there are some lovely light products out there. I love the Pixi Glow toner or Alpha H and The Ordinary retinol.

I tried the CT magic cream when it was launched (I didn’t pay for it but got a very generous sample pot). I found it heavy and over scented and it made no visible difference to my skin.

CoolCarrie · 16/07/2019 21:22

I didn’t like it on my skin, and agree with pp about style over substance, as is the way with a lot of skin care ranges. Stick with Nivea, I use the Q10 day and night plus the eye cream, I love it.

SouthWestmom · 16/07/2019 21:33

Oh that's interesting feedback thank you.

I've tried pixie glow and loved it but I'm a sucker for cute names and packaging so can't be trusted to make sensible choices. See also : glitter on clothing and shoes/ metallic anything in make up etc etc

Even though I don’t really find it better than other moisturisers, I’ve bought it a few times as I seem to lose my head in CT! I just love the smell and the packaging Blush it feels like a lovely bit of luxury in the mornings!

thisenglishlife · 17/07/2019 18:57

Never tired it but they sell small sizes of the magic creams on their website (15ml I think).

SouthWestmom · 17/07/2019 19:14

Oh really? I might try that then. I'm a bit reluctant to start an expensive habit. I e already started a perfume one so I was happy with Nivea til 'try this' she said ...

OP, I’ve got lots of samples of CT products. One I have is the cream. If you want to pm me your address I will post it to you.
