Espadrilles - yes or no? Which brands are good?

Think I have Stockholm syndrome and have gone from hating to quite wanting espadrilles. I blame the Middleton sisters and Meghan (who all seem to favour Castañer). Am I crazy? Are they a great summer shoe?

Can you recommend any brands that make comfortable pairs?

No! I always think they look a bit musty. Maybe if you have very slim, beautifully coloured legs and are only going to wear them on a promenade in Nice or sitting outside a cafe in Barcelona. But they don't look like a practical everyday summer shoe to me.

But then again, I like Birkenstocks, so please feel free to ignore my opinion and wear what you like 😁

I love them. They look great with a casual daytime outfit and can also be worn with a pretty linen dress for a relaxed dressy look on a summer evening. And they’re practically mandatory for holidays!

I don’t personally really like them the way Kate et all wear them - I don’t think they go well with s dressy dress or for actual events. Did Meghan wear them the other day with her lovely olive dress? That would have been a perfect combo.

You can buy them from Castaner, obviously, or from JL, Jigsaw, White Company, Dune, Whistles, lots of places really. I got mine from Boden (the yellow ones! ☀️☀️☀️) because the ones from Jigsaw didn’t fit (I’ve got wide feet).
