Mascara for suddenly watery eyes?

Can anyone recommend a good mascara for very sensitive eyes. Recently I developed watery eyes, a tiny bit bloodshot but no discomfort. Had it checked out and nothing. I stopped wearing any make-up during this time, but now its all been fine for three weeks I bought some new mascara and the watering started again. I've tried both of my usual favourites, Bobbi Brown Smokey Eyes and Clinique Las Power, and both cause watering. Are there any others that might be OK?

Do you use an SPF on your face? My eyes water terribly when I do even if I don't put it around my eyes, it seems to creep into them anyway.

I like the Clinique and the Estee Lauder tubing mascaras but find that they make my lashes quite hard and the Estee Lauder a bit scratchy. The MAC Extended Play mascaras are also tubing but feel lighter on and leave your lashes flexible. You could go to a counter and get them to try some on you?

Thanks for replying. I use moisturiser with spf, but the watering didn't start until I added mascara back into the routine. It was fine with moisturiser, foundation and lipstick.
Good idea to rock up to some counters in the department store and ask to try some.

I recently had a couple of skin tags and milia removed from my face and the nurse told me to use an SPF 50 for a few days.
Bought some and Jesus wept! Next thing I thought I was having a huge hayfever/attack or allergic reaction to pollen. Nose running like a tap, eyes watering so much I went through half a box of tissues in about 20 minutes. DH asked me if I had put sunscreen on as he has something similar when he uses while skiing. Rinsed it off and felt better immediately. My usual 20/30 spf creams don't affect me the same way at all.
My eyes are still not quite right, they've always been slightly photosensitive so I am interested in any mascara recommendations.

Try using some allergy eye drops.

Best mascara I’ve found for watery eyes is the L’Oréal lash paradise waterproof version. I swear it would last a nuclear apocalypse. I’ve tried lots of mascaras and this one tops them all. Also no adverse reaction. Others I’ve tried that I repurchase are the Kiko one in the gold tube (dramatic lash I think - only this one and none of the other Kiko mascaras) and the Hourglass one. I also had an amazing one from Aldi that’s a knock off of the maybelline one in the pink/green tube but I’ve not been able to get hold of it since.

My eyes are very sensitive. I’ve tried that Clinique one twice and both times it set my eyes off watering. Also avoid fibre mascaras, I find those really irritating for my eyes.
