Does this go?

Out for daytime drinks with friends tomorrow. It's scorching here just now, but I'm pasty and unorganised, as usual.

So shall be wearing bog standard - jeans and top.

Is this outfit okay? Does the tan bag go, considering I'm wearing black jeans and sandals? My lighter sandals have just fallen apart in my hand, I can't be arsed to wear my wedges, and a black bag seems too much black!

Thanks

Looks really nice too, which do you feel most comfortable in?

Cailinnua · 13/07/2019 21:01

The shorts look great. If you are happier in the dress, wear it.

OverpricedFloorCushion · 13/07/2019 21:03

I like the dress better. The black jeans and heels look a bit dressy for lunch and the shorts, whilst very flattering look more like something for the beach or the park. Gold sandals are lovely!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 13/07/2019 21:04

Your legs are out just as much in that dress as in the shorts but personally I think your figure looks better in the shorts & top combo.
Having said that, you look great in all your options so just go with your gut so that you're comfortable and can relax.

SpeckledyHen · 13/07/2019 21:04

You look lovely in all the outfits OP .

georgialondon · 13/07/2019 21:05

I like the dress a lot. I'd choose that if it was me.

disdressed · 13/07/2019 21:07

@OverpricedFloorCushion

Unfortunately the sandals are silver, but they will need to do, with either the shorts or the dress.

Sorry, but those saying shorts - which ones??

I like the shorts with the turn ups.

Ninkaninus · 13/07/2019 21:09

I think the dress goes better with the accessories you’ve got with it, it tells a cohesive story.

The top and shorts outfit is great too (wear it with the heeled sandals) but if you won’t feel comfortable then it’s no good as it’ll show.

The first outfit doesn’t really go for me.

small2018 · 13/07/2019 21:10

The turn up shorts.

Although I think the dress is better suited for this occasion.

Enjoy!

Ninkaninus · 13/07/2019 21:12

Either pair of shorts would be fine, I prefer the pair with the turn ups but I think the others might actually go better with that top.

WhoKnewBeefStew · 13/07/2019 21:14

If I had kegs like yours I'd live in shorts Grin

The black jeans with the second pair of shoes if you don't feel comfortable in the shirts

Ninkaninus · 13/07/2019 21:15

I think I agree with a pp that the dress fits the occasion better. And if you wear that you could carry a black bag which would go better with silver shoes, IMO.

DariaMorgendorffer · 13/07/2019 21:15

My fave is the dress, as the lighter colour is most summery....and it looks like the best outfit to keep you cool.

However, go with what feels most comfortable. You look lovely in every outfit. You absolutely have the legs for the shorts! 100%.

BenWillbondsPants · 13/07/2019 21:19

You look fantastic in the shorts, honestly. And what's with the 'I'm 37' nonsense - makes no difference, you look great in them. I'd be wearing them every bloody day if I had your legs, sun or no sun. 😁

Ninkaninus · 13/07/2019 21:22

Yes to be clear, you look great in the shorts.

I’m 43 and I happily wear shorts.

disdressed · 13/07/2019 21:39

Okay, looks like shorts. I'm worried it's going to be even hotter tomorrow, meaning a chance of sweat patches on the dress Blush

Shorts with turn ups, you look great!

disdressed · 13/07/2019 22:27

@bellalou1234 The top is from New Look

PPs are right OP. You have great legs.

Either the shorts or the dress look great.

browzingss · 14/07/2019 00:25

I like the denim dress!

But wear whatever you feel comfortable in and whatever you’re leaning towards the most!

StarlightLady · 14/07/2019 04:51

The dress is lovely! l want it. So, l suggest either the dressor the forst top with some loose white trousers. I think the jeans are “too winter”.
