Ankle chains

I like wearing jewellery (quite a lot of it)
However only tend to wear one of each item at a time, for example bracelet on one side, watch or bangle on the other side
I also wear an ankle chain - have done so for years even though they are probably not in fashion
I recently bought a bracelet and soon realised it wasn’t for me - DD suggested due to style it would make a better ankle chain so got a jeweller friend to alter it
What I can’t decide is whether to wear the 2 anklets together on same ankle, one on each side which could be a bit naff or just to keep and wear occasionally as an alternative to one I usually wear
If it makes any difference one is a Celtic knot pattern and hangs low on ankle, new one is shorter so sits higher and is very plain with tiny diamonds

I would alternate

I think one ankle bracelet is nice not 2

Anklets are somewhat trendy, they were everywhere in 2017-ish.

I think you should wear one at a time, or layer the two on one leg. I like the Celtic one more.

No. 2 looks like a bracelet. I can't really see it working as an ankle chain. Yes, it may physically fit round your ankle but I think it won't look good at all. I'd just stick with wearing the Celtic one as an anklet. Leave No. 2 on your wrist.

I like them but am unable to wear them due to cankles 😀

Ohhhh I haven't thought about ankle chains for years, I love em!. Just personal taste they would both be a little thick for me. I think of ankle chains being a lot thinner and more delicate. Thank you for making me think of them I'm going to head to the mall & find me an ankle chain.

Thanks for varied opinions - I’m thinking one on each leg bit odd, so will try the two together - I suspect they might get tangled or feel awkward, in which case the Celtic one stays and might occasionally swap for diamond one if I’m going more dressy
Glad I’ve inspired you @Onesailwait

I'd alternate. I have a silver one which is very similar to your Celtic one. I also had a necklace which I wrapped around my ankle twice and it made the perfect size 'double' anklet. I think if you are going to do the double thing, the style has to be the same.

Do you have a picture of you wearing the second one?

BenWillbondsPants · 13/07/2019 19:01

I don't think they would look right worn together, they're both too 'busy' if you know what I mean. If one were a plain chain, would probably be OK.

Quintella · 13/07/2019 19:04

I used to think ankle bracelets were the epitome of cool when I was a kid. Haven't thought about them in yonks!

WoahThereMama · 14/07/2019 07:14

I’d alternate as i don’t think they’d look right worn together on one leg & one on each leg would look a bit much. They don’t ‘go’ together imo.

No2 looks very much like a bracelet to me do not sure how it would sit like an anklet.

I like wearing ankle chains but only Indian style payal ones.
