Cleanser discontinued - what do I use instead?

I have middle aged skin. I used to be really greasy, now I am a bit dry, but still a bit greasy. It’s hard to explain. Anyway, after a lot of hit and miss I found Super Facialist rose creamy cleanser for washing my face. It was perfect and my skin was gorgeous, completely clear and felt lovely. Of course it has been discontinued. Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? I’ve tried No 7, Nivea, Lancôme and La Roche Posay but my skin is spotty and congested. Help!

Where did you find out this has been discontinued? I use it too.

Mrsjayy · 11/07/2019 21:23

St ives apricot scrub i have been using it 2 years and my skin feels lovely i also use nivea cleanser and toner between scrubs.

CeraVe cleanser, the creamy one rather than the foaming one. Boots and Superdrug sell it. I find the method of removal is important- warm water and clean flannel. I came to it after I stopped being Ble to buy the rose oil face wash thingy I used to get.

I have an unused tube that was gifted to me - happy to send to you if you want

YesQueen · 11/07/2019 21:32

I’d really recommend trying this - it’s so cheap that it’s worth trying if you don’t like it! I think you will though.
I’m so impressed with it. The facial oil from the same range is fab and they smell good too!

Ren Rosa Centifolia hot cloth cleanser might be similar- Ren have a few decent cleansers

I use Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Cottonseed for normal/combination skin.
www.clarins.co.uk/gentle-foaming-cleanser-with-cottonseed-normal-combination-skin/80035082.html
I'm in my 40s & have combination skin. I've been using it since my 20s.
A tube lasts me around 6 months.
If you go to a Clarins counter & explain your skin predicament then they will give you a sample to try.

I love this site. I’ve been stewing away about this and within a few minutes I have loads of suggestions. Thanks everyone.

On specifics:

Moog - please don’t give it away, try it instead. It’s awesome stuff.

Mashed - Boots told me. I’ve tried other places but no sign anywhere else.

Facetheory do cleansers for congested skin.

I bought their serums and gave been hugely impressed with them.

Glossier milky gel cleanser might be up your street. Non foaming gel but washes off. Smells of roses. Love it. I'm on my third bottle and that never happens!!

Mrsjayy · 11/07/2019 21:51

Have you tried discount chemists like savers or Bodycare they sometimes have end of line beauty stuff. Oh and Home Bargains.

Destinesia · 11/07/2019 22:04

As well as Boots online, Amazon have it in stock and so does the superfacialist site.

Ratonastick · 11/07/2019 22:22

That’s the stuff! I’ve been given a bum steer. My order has gone in to Amazon and my skin should be back in shape within the fortnight!

Keep an eye out in TKMaxx too. They often have the Superfacialist stuff for really good prices. Have you tried the rose facial oil? I cleanse with that before the cream cleanser. It's amazing.

MinesaPinot · 12/07/2019 09:47

Sainsburys do Superfacialist as well (at least my one does)

nothingwittyhere · 12/07/2019 15:56

I just saw this cleanser in Sainsburys! I've used it before, the whole range smells gorgeous.

GRoe91 · 12/07/2019 16:08

Pixie do a rose Cream Cleanser that is lovely 👍🏻

frugalkitty · 12/07/2019 17:13

I checked in our local Sainsbury's today and they had a load on the shelf. £8, nothing to suggest it's being discontinued.
