Looking for a nice bag for a laptop

I’m looking for a nice work bag. Needs to be big enough and strong enough to hold a laptop (38cm x 26cm x 2cm). At the moment I have this hideous laptop rucksack that work gave me. It doesn’t look good at all, is far too big for me and also advertises the fact that there’s a laptop inside. I’d rather a normal bag (I have a pouch I can put the laptop in to protect it). Work dress code is smart casual. Anyone got any suggestions?

I think what I’d do is buy a protective sleeve for your laptop (just a plain padded zipped one) and then get a Longchamp LePliage tote to carry it in. They are very durable and very light and seem to withstand everything but the kitchen sink being carted about in them, so I’m sure they’d cope with a laptop.

Oh oops skimmed that and just saw that you already have the pouch!

Thanks Ninkaninus! I love that bag but I think it will be too small as the laptop is 38cm wide. Shame as it would have been perfect! They even advertise it as suitable for carrying a laptop (must mean a smaller one than mine)

There are different sizes, did you definitely look at the large one?

I have a leather backpack from Fossil. Can't rate it highly enough. It was £300 but worth every penny.

Totes are a pain to carry if you're commuting.

My daughter carries a laptop on a commute every day, she also has a fossil leather backpack but she bought it from an outlet and only paid about £60 (there was a further reduction at the time) for a bag that should have been £199. She’s also very happy with it.

Thanks everyone. The measurements online for the Longchamp tote were for the bottom part of the bag. Obviously it’s wider at the top so I think the laptop will just fit. I also like some of the fossil rucksacks but would need to find an outlet or eBay

I got a nice rucksack by Reyleo on Amazon. It looks smart and has lots of compartments. It was only about £25.
