Currently hunting for a new handbag (for day to day/work) and would love some inspiration!

Whistles emerald green tote bag or oak Bayswater which is at least ten years old and looking a bit battered but I still love it.

Veronicat · 10/07/2019 18:06

I have a Dubarry Bandon. I love it.

Bluntness100 · 10/07/2019 18:08

I use an olive green leather hard tote from Lk Bennett, it's two years old so no longer available. I love it, and it's actually the only bag I've ever owned that random women compliment continuously.

browzingss · 10/07/2019 19:10

Ooo lots of tote bags then!

It’s weird, a lot of brands seem to sell more ‘mini’ bags right now, which would barely even fit a water bottle inside - very annoying!

When I’m not working it’s a Tory Burch camera bag. When I’m working it’s a Longchamp tote

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/07/2019 19:13

Either a brown leather Fossil bag, or a black Kipling tote if I need something bigger. For work, I just use Kipling bags as they fit lots in and are light. I'm thinking of 'upgrading' to a Longchamp one though.

happytobemrsg · 10/07/2019 19:14

I don’t carry much - small coin purse, keys & my phone. DS has his own bag & DH has a man bag. I love small crossbody bags. Keeps my essentials close while being hands free

happytobemrsg · 10/07/2019 19:16

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie my Longchamp bags are super sturdy. If I go back to work after maternity leave I’ll be buying a few so I have a rotation (I get bored)

Bloomburger · 10/07/2019 19:16

Chloe Marcie in black or a Sweaty Betty Luxe Gym Bag.

Am trying to find a nice summer bag for holidays.

shaaaaating · 10/07/2019 19:17

Black Fossil bag.

shaaaaating · 10/07/2019 19:19

Tote*

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/07/2019 19:23

No leather here

I use Kiplings , my latest has a zipped up deep compartment that flaps over so much more secure .

I limit myself with handbags , I only need 2-3 at the most .

My trusty Jack Wolfskin Dayton rucksack, 5 years and not a thread out of place.. I'm not particularly stylish or fashionable though 😂

Mines a nude guess tote that I got in a charity shop for a £5er
Big enough for all my crap but smart as well

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/07/2019 19:43

Happytobe - Which Longchamp ones do you tend to go for? What size?

SpeckledyHen · 10/07/2019 19:55

Chocolate Mulberry Elgin . Huge , heavy and beautiful.

Redact · 10/07/2019 20:01

Longchamp totes, I have navy and black so alternate them or a neverfull. Great bags for day to day use, ie, work! I use other bags at the weekend and quite often the neverfull too

OrdinarySnowflake · 10/07/2019 20:05

I've started using an old longchamp one for everyday, and it's so practical, I've not swapping back to my leather totes.

I was tempted by the neverful for summer, but the price is a bit steep for a canvas bag.

TattiePants · 10/07/2019 20:05

@SpeckledyHen I hunted down a pristine oak Elgin years ago to use as an everyday bag but it's too big for me and I've barely used it.

Smellslikebiscuits · 10/07/2019 22:10

Longchamp tote here too, especially for work, occasionally a patterned Ralph Lauren or Boden tote in the summer, depending on what I’m wearing.
In the winter a black Mulberry hobo.
So close to buying the Neverfull last year, but the price for canvas, and the slightly plasticky smell really put me off.

SpeckledyHen · 10/07/2019 22:23

Tattie I only use it for work as I drive there . It’s far too heavy fully loaded for public transport etc , but it looks and smells divine .

HundredMilesAnHour · 10/07/2019 23:07

I use a red leather backpack from Smythson. Looks great and keeps my hands free. It's this one but red rather than black:

checkmaid · 10/07/2019 23:12

I have a Mia tui backpack that I love. It's not huge, but like a tardis on the inside Smile

Sunbeam18 · 10/07/2019 23:38

Coach plum leather backpack

smileannie · 11/07/2019 01:41

Bought my first (and definitely not my last) Longchamp le pliage recently and I love it, can’t recommend it enough. It’s absolutely perfect for an everyday bag. Had thought about getting one on and off for years and after reading again, here on Mumsnet how great they are I got the black and in fact am going back to Selfridges tomorrow to get the navy.
