Has anyone used Paula's Choice BHA liquid?

I've read some amazing reviews of this product but was wondering if anyone on here has used it, and what you thought?

Over the past few months I've developed loads of under the skin bumps all over my forehead and side of my face. Also I've just started getting breakouts around my chin and neck (not had this happen for a couple of years).

I've recently turned 40, drink lots of water, don't smoke and only drink alcohol very occasionally. My diet isn't fantastic but it's not horrendous.

The state of my face is really getting me down, especially added in to the line and wrinkles that seem to be appearing at an alarming rate!

Sorry for the long post, help please Confused

yes, love the stuff. Doesn't irritate at all, but skin is clear and glowing.

ProfessorRapson · 10/07/2019 12:36

I'm glad that you've posted this: I've periodically thought about buying it for my dreadful skin, I've just looked and a trial size is currently on offer for £8 with free delivery via the Paula's Choice website.

WeeMadArthur · 10/07/2019 12:42

I have used the normal strength one, which did make a visible difference to my skin, but didn’t sort out my (similar sounding to yours) forehead bumps so I also bought the stronger one you are supposed to use 2 to 3 times a week. It has definitely improved the bumps after a few uses and I think they will be gone by next week. Not sure if the stronger version comes in a trial size but it is definitely worth the cost imo.

WeeMadArthur · 10/07/2019 12:44

Just realise the stronger one is an AHA

Has anyone used Paula's Choice BHA liquid?
Bignicetree · 10/07/2019 12:48

My eyesight is not good enough to read the bottle!
What does it do ?

WeeMadArthur · 10/07/2019 14:42

Gets rid of dead skin. The blurb on the site says “Add this leave-on exfoliant with 10% glycolic acid (AHA) and powerful antioxidants to your weekly skincare routine to reveal radiant, dramatically younger skin overnight. Experience improved texture, colour and tone with a noticeable reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and sun damage.”

I’ve used it consistently for three months now and it has totally cleared my adult acne and smoothed my skin, couldn’t recommend it enough, I love the stuff

Shufflebumnessie · 10/07/2019 16:46

@DoorsAndWater that's great to hear. Is it just the BHA liquid that you use or other products from the range too?
Could you share what facial moisturiser you use please? Thanks.

Yes, but found the BHA better than AHA for my hormonal acne.

koshkat · 10/07/2019 17:30

I use the 2% BHA liquid and it is truly incredible stuff. I use it once a week for blackheads around my nose area and they are completely gone. It also makes the rest of my face very glowy.
I would not recommend using it more than twice a week personally but yes it is great.

DoorsAndWater · 10/07/2019 18:01

@Shufflebumnessie I did a quiz on the website I think and I bought the travel size calm set initially but now my acne is gone I’ve used the 2% liquid and the calm cleanser after I’ve taken my make up off with an oil from Superdrug, I use the naturally radiant night cream from Superdrug and that is brilliant too, in the day I’ve gone back to a Bobbi brown moisturiser as I’ve always liked it - hope this helps

Writersblock2 · 10/07/2019 23:22

I’ve used the BHA and AHAs - the latter is one of my “can’t do without” products. And my goodness does a bottle last. Try it!

Shufflebumnessie · 11/07/2019 11:48

DoorsAndWater thank you. Thats great. I've just bought the Superdrug Radiant day and night cream to try (buy 1 get 1 free so thought I'd try them both).

I've used it before - it's good if you have congested skin, so should help. You might give the travel size a try. But also consider a glycolic acid - NipFab have Glycolic pads. Dr Dennis Gross does Great acid pads too, but pricier ;) Acids are clarifying and exfoliating, so should help brighten and even skin tone. But do make sure you wear a good sunscreen during daytimes as skin becomes more sensitive.

AnnaMagnani · 11/07/2019 17:30

Yes, the reviews are all true. The 2% BHA is amazing.

Cleared up my acne, got rid of all my blackheads and sebaceous filaments, the product was fantastic. I used it daily.

TBH, if you just bought the whole range of Paula's Choice, you wouldn't go far wrong but the BHA and retinols are the stars.

The woman knows her stuff and is kind to animals too.

Fresta · 11/07/2019 19:22

All Paulas Choice products are great, I've used them for years and they all do what they claim to do.

Shufflebumnessie · 12/07/2019 14:07

Thanks for all the replies. I've ordered the trial size, fingers crossed it works!!

Have also ordered the trial size on the back of this thread. Reviews all sound great.

Troton · 12/07/2019 15:40

I’ve been using it for about 6 weeks and it’s definitely helped my clogged pores. It did make my spots slightly worse before they got better as I think it brought the spots out as it unclogged my pores. My skin is not perfect but it’s definitely helped
