pale colours on toe nails?

I usually stick to red, dark red or pewter on my toes but decided to go for a pale pinky neutral today. They look weirdly trotterish but I'm not sure if that's because I'm used to seeing darker colours on my toe nails. Can pale colours work on feet?

I don’t like “nude” looking pale colours on my own toes. Mine are currently pale grey, which is fine, but I don’t like the type of colour where the nails and toes sort of blend together. This may be partly because I am very short sighted though.

I love cool toned golds and rose golds on toes for summer. Ice blue also looks good on me, I have tanned feet though, and I think that makes pale colours stand out more Smile

Bright colours don’t look right on me, especially not on my toes, so I tend to stick with nudes and light pinks. Neutral colours tend to suit a wider range of outfits/shoes without clashing too. I think light colours can definitely work if you get the right shades, I (weirdly) get told that I have nice feet so can’t be that bad!

I saw a woman with silver glitter toes the other day

Mine are currently orange with glitter
I think pale works ok with a tan

I have a lovely bronze colour on at the moment, my feet are quite tanned so it works well.

It doesn't look as anaemic this morning, it definitely has a pale / shell pink hue. My feet are tanned too. I'll have to leave it as I don't have time to faff again this week.

I'm desperate to break out of all my style and beauty ruts but it's really difficult, I keep going back to the tried and tested things.

I used to be like that poppy but as I’ve grown older I’ve become a bit more daring. Make changes slowly so you become comfortable with them, a different lipstick say, or one shade lighter/darker hair or whatever.

Looks nice on tanned or darker skin. I tried it once but it looked awful on me...I stick to bright red now.

noonarna · 10/07/2019 10:48

I much prefer nude on toes! Maybe you just have the wrong shade of pink - too red or too dark perhaps? Try and find something slightly lighter, I wear fiji by essie on my toes.

Oopsy41 · 10/07/2019 10:51

I usually have silver with a top coat of glitter and don't tend to like pale colours. I've currently got green on which my daughter put on me, it's not my usual taste but it does look summery.

Todamhottoday · 10/07/2019 11:01

Im not a huge fan of my own toenails being painted all the time but when I do I always choose a bright colour.

Currently have a bright orange coral kind of shade (OPI) not worn it before and I quite like it. But then I will try any colour really even mixing 2 together.

Not a fan of pale colours, either toes or hands, too wishy washy for me.

poppym12 · 10/07/2019 14:41

This is a very similar colour to Fiji which I'd usually put on my finger nails. It doesn't look so alarmingly pale in natural light so maybe I'm getting used to it.

Mine are currently milk-white, and I have had lots of compliments. My feet are slightly tanned.
