Which cleansing balm do you use?

I want to purchase a cleansing balm so I can stop using wipes. I’ve looked at the body shops & no7 cleansing balm. Are either of these any good? Or are there any others that you recommend?

I use Clinique take the day off, I like it. I used to use Emma Hardie Moringa it was ok though I think something in it irritated my skin, it's not really worth the price as Clinique is just as good if not better.
I'd like to try the Elemis balm as I liked the marine cream.

BodyShop here and the Superdrug Optimum Balm (when it was half price )

I use a hot muslin cloth then moisturise

sneakypinky · 07/07/2019 20:40

I use ultrabland, love it.

OxanaVorontsova · 07/07/2019 20:44

Elemis, it lasts ages and is lovely

Jayneisagirlsname · 07/07/2019 20:54

EMma Hardie is my favourite. I love the smell, it really makes my skin glow. It feels like a little luxury everyday. It is expensive but it lasts ages. My £60 ish pot has lasted me nearly a year and I'm not nearly finished!

A close second is the Tropic one / smells lush

CakeNinja · 07/07/2019 23:37

Lots! I love cleansers but effectively they are just a ‘soap’ that cleans your face - you wash them off straight away and don’t really deliver many skincare benefits (IMO), you need to invest wisely in what goes in AFTER you’ve cleansed.
I love the EH moringa balm, the eve lom cleanser, dermalogica precleanse and I used to like the Sunday Riley one but the formula appears to have changed and it’s not as good. The Elemis original (as I call it, not the rose one) is nice too.
Balance me have a nice smooth and polish one and LE and it’s superdrug dupe of the cleanse and polish are all much of a muchness. I love cleansing my skin but more for the relaxation ritual!!
I like the oils/acids/serums/overnight moisturising treatments etc more.

I like the Drunk Elephant Slaai balm cleanser.

I have the EH one, it smells gorgeous. My large 200ml pot lasted ages but I won't repurchase again. Too £££.

I also have the Clinique TTDO which I've repurchased a few times.

I didn't like the Body Shop chamomile one. My skin disliked Liz Earle cleanse and polish and the Superdrug dupes.

I've decided my Dr Sam's Flawless Cleanser suits my skin best and removes my make up in one go so I no longer need cleansing balms.

As my skin has improved due to my skin care regime I don't use Long lasting foundations any more so my foundations come off in one go.

Lush ultra bland. With cotton pads followed by a hot flannel.

soapona · 08/07/2019 01:13

Ok beauty therapist with 25 year experience here. Cleansing balms are good for removing make up in an oil attract oil way. It's a pre cleanse, after this step which incidentally you don't use with cotton pads for you take a knob rub into your hands then massage into your face. Then use a drizzle of water emulsifying the product. Then hot cloth, then treatment cleanser e.g oily/dry, then tone then moisturiser. Don't use precleanse in morning it's not necessary it ideal for removing stubborn make up.

supadupapupascupa · 09/07/2019 22:51

Yes. Rub into hands with a little water. Massage onto face. Wet cotton pads to remove mostly. Then hot cloth

supadupapupascupa · 09/07/2019 22:53

And then moisturise. Nothing left to cleanse in my face. Don't know anyone who tones. Water on hot cloth gets skin clean. As little as possible touches my skin and it is very good skin as a result

Butterymuffin · 09/07/2019 22:59

I tone! I like a refreshing toner. For cleansing balm I use Clinique Take the Day Off.

funmummy48 · 09/07/2019 23:04

Another vote for the Body shop Chamomile cleansing balm. It's lovely and gentle. Someone further up the post says it has an overpowering smell but I've just sniffed mine & it doesn't really smell at all.😮

frugalkitty · 09/07/2019 23:09

Elemis original balm is my favourite, I buy it on qvc or eBay. I like the Body Shop one but not near my eyes. Ultrabland is fab but needs more flanneling off I find. The boots Botanics one is also quite nice. Otherwise I like the Liz Earle rose cleanse and polish.

RogueV · 09/07/2019 23:10

I use the Clinique one it’s beilliant
