I am size 16 and want a few nice swimsuits for holiday. Where can I get nice ones from which are good quality? Would prefer something not completely plain

My best buys so far have been a seafolly costume from the asos sale. Excellent quality and really flattering, just wish I could afford them at normal price.
Also got a really nice one from figleaves. Was slightly worried buying one in a bra size as I'm a 32f but need a size 14 costume, but it fits surprisingly well and the horizontal stripes are actually quite flattering and camouflage the c-section over hang well.

dontcallmelen · 07/07/2019 19:49

I just got a seafolly & figleaves swimming costumes from the next sale reduced from over ninety pounds to thirty five, Debenhams have a sale & boden have some swimwear reductions, also bravissimo do some nice ones as well.

blibblibs · 07/07/2019 20:44

Thanks dontcallme I've just ordered another seafolly costume that I really don't need from next Grin
Delivery is 3 weeks away though which they didn't let on to until I'd paid for it. Not a problem but a bit cheeky of them.

pigletpie2177 · 07/07/2019 21:25

Huge fan of the Boden talamanca - sucks in my tummy and flatters my boobs. I have one and am very tempted to get another ☺️

dontcallmelen · 08/07/2019 09:11

@blibblibs 😂 tis very cheeky, the same happened to me with the figleaves costume, seafolly one is due to be delivered today.

DarklisAndIsa · 08/07/2019 09:32

The Pour Moi Starboard range are super flattering, I've got a navy and while polka dot halterneck swimsuit that has a yellow band under the bust and its SO nice.

Mummyonline · 08/07/2019 12:38

Thanks for your suggestions. I can't find any Seafolly in the Next sale. Has it ended?

I bought a few Curvy Kate bikinis on sale from Brastop (top £10, bottoms £8). I have the higher waist bottoms with a proper bra size top and that looks better on me than a costume with no support at the top.

FitnessFad · 08/07/2019 12:50

Figleaves are absolutely amazing, especially for those with a curvy figure or bigger busted! I get so many people commenting how nice the swimsuit is when I'm wearing one, or asking where it's from!
They often have sales on or discount codes too.

blibblibs · 08/07/2019 13:29

I've just checked mummy and the sale is still on. You need to go into the sale section then search seafolly.
This is the one I ordered yesterday

@blibblibs that’s the one I ordered, just came so going to try on shortly fingers crossed it fits, tis really lovely.

Julykthat · 08/07/2019 14:12

Figleaves! I have spent years trying to wrestle myself into tankinis from Panache and Bravissimo and my new cossies from Figleaves are so easy to slip in and out of I don't dread a swimming trip

blibblibs · 08/07/2019 14:14

I wonder why I'm having to wait for 3 weeks then Confused
Let me know how you get on dontcallme I'm a bit worried I'll look a bit booby in it but I've got a long wait to find out. Thankfully I don't really need it so nothing lost.

dontcallmelen · 08/07/2019 14:36

@blibblibs that’s strange, the figleaves one I ordered has 2/3 wait the Seafolly one I ordered on Saturday, anyway it fits especially nicely round the bum (I have no bum, so usually have to get cossies taken in) I do feel a bit booby in it I’m 30f but I think if I put a stitch in where the ties are it would close the gap a bit, I so want to keep it as it’s really lovely, very soft & beautifully made dd is coming over shortly will ask her opinion, she will always let me know if is a a no no😂

TakeMe2Insanity · 08/07/2019 15:09

I bought the sainsburys one with inner tummy control. Very flattering and looks more expensive than the £16 it is.

gubbsywubbsy · 08/07/2019 18:51

I like Tesco , they have support on the waist and boobs .

dontcallmelen · 08/07/2019 19:52

@blibblibs dd has given it a thumbs down, due to not enough coverage on the bust, I sort of knew but what hoping it was me being self conscious so very reluctantly sending back😢 hope yours is a better fit.

blibblibs · 08/07/2019 23:02

Oh, that's disappointing dontcallme.
I'm not really one for having alot of boob on show so I fear the worst but will hope for the best.
Would usually just put a vest under anything low cut but I guess that doesn't work with a swimming costume Grin

StarlightLady · 09/07/2019 06:39

This doesn’t help the OP, but l long for a slection of cossies with a very deep scooped back; almost but not quite to the top of the bum. There are too many about now with bra top style clasps across the mid back for my liking.

Sparklyring · 09/07/2019 10:15

@blibblibs The long wait is due to the volume of orders from the sale. I'm a manager in a small Next and over sale we receive between 700-800 parcels each day from people ordering online!

dontcallmelen · 09/07/2019 11:19

@StarlightLady I have seen a few with a very deep back, I think Seafolly have someI have been on so many sites last few days I can’t remember on what sites I saw them, but definitely are about possibly ASOS, bravissimo & Debenhams.

Branleuse · 09/07/2019 11:28

I really love boden swimsuits, although theyre not cupsized which can be an issue

StarlightLady · 09/07/2019 12:25

@dontcallmelen Thank you, I’ll take a peek. I fail to understand the popularity of high backs or straps crossing over the back.

dontcallmelen · 10/07/2019 21:46

@blibblibs just in case still looking, I got these from Seaspray the pink one was 23.00 down from 78.00 & the ombré one 39.00 down from 78.00 also, lovely quality very comfortable.

blibblibs · 11/07/2019 06:04

Thanks dontcallme, really like the pink one and there would be no spillage with it but I have a new tankini from pour moi and a very similar shaped costume from figleaves that I got for a bargain price of £15.
And I didn't really need any of them! We're only going away for a week and I have 5 costumes, 6 if the seafolly arrives and 3 tankinis. So more cossies than days Blush
