Discoloration under arms

Not me but DD (16).

I've noticed she's developed big areas of discoloration under her arms, which are becoming very obvious.

She shaves under her arms on pretty much a daily basis - she can't wax as she's a dancer and in a sleeveless leotard every day so couldn't manage the regrowth.

Her skin under her arms is quite sensitive and can break out so I buy her Dove or Nivea sensitive deodorants.

Any way to get rid of it?

IPL. I am imagining a Bluto style shadow from the excessive shaving. Laser removal is amazing! Even the at home ones.

Does your DD exfoliate? Armpits feel the benefit too
Use a facial scrub it'll be milder than a body scrub. Helps with ingrown hairs too.

I had a reaction to a roll-on , my skin peeled , was itchy and red , on the skin round the armpit hair .

I use a crystal stick mainly ( PitRoK) there's no white marks to worry about .

What do other dancers do? I wouldn't like to shave my armpits daily . I have dark hair and Celtic skin and waxing is my only workable method (I'm using Nads Sugaring at the moment) for my armpits .

An epilator might work on very short hair too. I use one on my legs but it is ancient (need to search out a newer model)

Does she just need a good scrub from build up of deodorant?

Using proper soap to wash with can help plus IPL/laser to end the shaving.

There is a condition called acanthosis nigricans where you get darker skin under the armpits - some people just have it, it's also associated with diabetes which I'd think was unlikely if your DD is a superfit dancer. I freaked myself out that I had it as I am fat and unhealthy so at risk for Type 2 diabetes but it turns out I just needed to wash better However it did make me lose some weight so not all bad news
