Help first Hollywood tomorrow, to trim first or not to trim first?

I normally have bikini or high bikini if I'm feeling risque.

Is it better to trim the hair shorter first?

Yes. If the hair is too long the wax doesn't grip properly. I'd trim it down so its maybe half a cm to 1 cm max.
