I live and die in skinny jeans, but am getting bored of them and trying to get a bit of confidence back...what other trousers can I wear?! And what tips to go with?!

I’m a 24 with a biggish tummy, and would SO appreciate some help!

I'm an 18 with a belly and have fallen in love with sainsbury TU slim jeans they are so comfy and forgiving.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 04/07/2019 08:02

Next Jeggings. Sooo comfy 😀.

Asda do leggings that look like jeans but have all the comfort and stretch of leggings. So comfy and only £8. I have about 6 pairs, I love them!

CosmicVagina · 04/07/2019 09:27

I'm the same size as you, I've just bought a couple of pairs of peg leg or paper bag trousers. I feel really good in them with a tucked in top.

Like these

Thanks all!

CosmicVagina oh that’s the type of thing I’m looking for!

What kind of top would you pair them with? And shoes? I’m a flats, trainer or chunky boot kind of woman so not sure heels would work for me!
How do they come up size wise? Any other brand recommendations other then Oasis (I’ll certainly be purchasing the ones you’ve linked to!)

Thank you so much!

I'm just finding my way with tops to match them, I find the tucking in of tops really strange but I like it. The 90's teanager me would hate it!

I think they are true to size, I got another two pairs from Amazon. One khaki and one navy, I searched for things like peg leg and paper bag trousers

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 04/07/2019 17:39

Thank you! What kind of shoes are you wearing with them?

I’m quite excited!

Birkinstocks or loafers. Maybe my brogues too

CosmicVagina · 04/07/2019 18:28

They do 'show' your tummy and bum though, its not a skimming look but I'm coming to the realisation that skimming clothes don't actually hide anything anyway. It's a bit of a mind set change but i really like the look.

I second the peg trouser as I have big thighs!!! I haven't however sussed the top bit though and have continued to wear my tops on the outside ( hence why I haven't any paper bag ones). Uniqlo also do a nice pair of linen trousers although I bought their gingham ones and feel like a chef in them!!!

Shitonthebloodything · 04/07/2019 18:37

Just bought my first pair of trousers in about 10 years because I'm sick of skinny jeans too.
I got a pair of peg leg high waisted trousers from ASOS. I'm not sure how flattering they are but I felt really good (dare I say a bit trendy!) In them and they were so comfy. Wore them with a scoop neck fitted top tucked in.
Dorothy Perkins go to a 28 and have some nice ankle grazer style trousers, if you're nervous about showing your tummy, go for a print.
Espadrilles or wedges look nice with them.

thanks all! So helpful, really looking forward to giving them a whirl!

How do the peg legs feel OP?

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 08/07/2019 20:02

Sad unfortunately they just didn’t work, far to much fabric at the front (smaller size didn’t fit)

V sad as I had high hopes!

Thank you x

I'm loving palazzo pants with a floaty top. Or patterned leggings with a tunic top.
