Shit fine hair - is there anything else I can try??!

Hi all, I just have the shittest hair ever. It's very thin, dry and breaks easily. I do have it highlighted but try to only get it done 2-3 times per year. I use olaplex with no difference. I give it a deep conditioning treatment a couple of times a week but it makes no odds. I try and only blow dry & straighten at the weekend.

Is there any miracle products you've tried that have really made a difference? I'm getting married in Feb and would love it to look healthier!

Tia

My hair is exactly the same, plus frizzy!! I swear by joico k pak liquid reconstructor. It’s a protein spray. My hairdresser said that’s what fine hair/ I needed. Spray after every wash and its marvellous!! Protein treatments all the way! Good luck

I feel your pain. I have very fine hair that grows very slowly and loads of it fell out due to stress (work related) so now I have fine, thin hair. It started growing back but due to the medication I'm taking (Tamoxifen), the regrowth breaks off as well as my hair thins so I am stuck with fine, thinning, brittle hair for the next 2 years (when I can stop the medication). It makes me want to cry as I never had amazing hair but now I feel so conscious all the time of what fine thin hair I have left.

Anyway, my hairdresser (who owns an award winning London salon and has known me and my hair for almost 30 years) recommended using shampoo and conditioner from Redken Extreme. This is only the second time in 30 years he has ever recommended a product to me (just so it's clear he's not one of those pushy product selling hair people). I buy it online from lookfantastic where it's currently 30% reduced. It's made a huge difference! My hair feels stronger and smoother. Okay so it can't fix the thinning but my hair looks much better.

I use this shampoo and conditioner:

And I also use the anti-snap treatment as I leave-in conditioner (when I go to bed or after the gym):

Oh I forgot to add that I also tried using Olaplex at home. Whilst it made my hair feel lovely and soft, that was the only real benefit. This is what started the discussion with my hairdresser and he told me I needed to use something with protein in to help build my hair's strength back.

Get a good hair oil. A true oil, not a serum. I love combining Japanese camellia, argan and sesame. I gave myself twice weekly scalp massages and left it in, wore a slicked back do for ages and just let it be. Summer is a great time to do this anyway. Stop using chemicals if you really want to see a difference.
