Yay or nay - sandals

Try and look beyond the feet but what do you think of these? My v on trend 12 yr old niece muttered something about heading into a Roman arena but I think I like them but am I just blinkered by how comfortable they are? I need something for work in the summer. They are fit flops so they are good with my plantar fasciitis and I work in a v casual office so pretty much anything goes but even I really don't think I can get away with flip flops (although I have been known to wear them on v rare occasions) and I hate wearing slip on thingys as my feet just smell and If I wear those sock things you can always see them and they are rubbish at supporting my feet. Thoughts?

Oh and I have wide long feet with reasonably high arches so all the really lovely shoes are generally out for that reason ....

I think they’re lovely and I’ve had my eye on the same pair but can’t afford them!

CharlieandLolaCat · 02/07/2019 22:58

@RonnieOnions I'll take a vote of one and celebrate! Yay! They are super comfy!

I really like them and I rarely see sandals that I like.

Miniloso · 02/07/2019 23:04

Love them!

DateBanana · 02/07/2019 23:07

Nice

CountFosco · 02/07/2019 23:19

They are far from awful but have a touch of glamorous granny about them, I think it's the gold detail. To be worn with a blond bob and some well fitting dark wash jeans and a flattering top in one of 'your' colours as prescribed by HoC.

CharlieandLolaCat · 02/07/2019 23:28

@CountFosco this is slightly what I am afraid of. On the other hand I am definitely not a glamorous granny (or glamorous anything else come to that) and I don't know what an HoC is ..... not sure that helps!

I like them, they're nicer that most fit flops!
(Full disclosure - I have looads of them for the comfort but stylish they ain't. Apart from the Uma Thurman ones with the thinner soles, much like yours.)

CountFosco · 03/07/2019 05:24

HoC = house of colour. But honestly, they are still a million times better than some of the monstrosities people suggest on here much of the time.

OrchidInTheSun · 03/07/2019 05:48

I like them and you have nice feet.

CharlieandLolaCat · 03/07/2019 06:52

Thanks all, I shall wear them confidently and stop thinking Roman! @OrchidInTheSun thanks!Grin

Sorry for jumping In but where are they from? I really like them!

moonpiggle · 03/07/2019 07:03

They are really nice..keep.

TarragonSauce · 03/07/2019 07:34

Blimey, £40 down from £100 on the fitflops website. Ordered! Was leaning towards the brown but went with the avocado as thought this gave more choice in clothes colour despite them being a bit more bling (hate black and brown together and will not wear).

dudsville · 03/07/2019 08:22

You have good feet. Those sandals look fine but it would bug me seeing the one toe kind of trapped like that!

Madbengalmum · 03/07/2019 08:26

I don't mind those at all, they sit you.

Madbengalmum · 03/07/2019 08:26

*suit not sit!

dontgobaconmyheart · 03/07/2019 10:46

I think they look nice from above but less so when you see the sole, it's that that gives off slight orthaepedic vibes, and the gold leather so it would depend how much is visible from the side for me as to whether they were a no go.

With all that said at this point I'd wear anything that was comfy (comfort is everything!) and they are certainly not awful OP by any stretch, they do suit your feet (if that's a thing).I'd keep of they were good value.

OBface · 03/07/2019 10:56

Honestly I think they are a little old fashioned...

But seem to be at odds with most other people!

RudyRoo · 03/07/2019 10:57

I really like them - comfy sandals all the way!

Deadringer · 03/07/2019 10:59

I love them.

NiteFlights · 03/07/2019 11:48

I agree with what CountFosco said. They are okay. You have nice feet!

CharlieandLolaCat · 03/07/2019 23:55

Thanks all, am going to go with the majority and wear with pride! Smile
