Mineral powder makeup for acne prone skin

Has mineral makeup had its day?
I’m considering the bare minerals matte range as I tried the original version years ago but it felt prickly on my skin (? From the bismuth oxychloride). Also tried Lily Lolo about 10 years ago but never quite found a shade that matched and it also tended to break up on my face in oilier regions. I just would like to cover the bad areas but not cause more breakouts.

I used lily Lolo a long time ago, got fed up with it being messy and moved on, but recently I had an awful flare up of my horrendous perioral dermatitis so needed something as simple as possible to cover up the red weeping sore spots on my chin. So I ordered another pot of barely buff from them and it is actually not bad. The colour is good on me and it hasn't made my skin worse.

It does sometimes go cakey if I brush it on wrong or accidentally put the wrong cream underneath, which is a pain in the arse as that's always when I'm late for work, but generally it makes my (nearly healed) poor skin look much better than anything else. The concealer is bizarrely shit on me though.

Have you looked at this Bare Minerals powder. Specifically for spot prone skin. I had the old version called Blemish remedy and got on fine with it.
I've recently tried a sample of (and subsequently bought) Estee Lauder double wear (liquid) foundation and am really pleased with it. Great coverage without looking too heavy and hasn't made my skin break out at all - lady on the counter said probably because it's powder based rather than oil based.

Reticule, is go for Lilylolo if I could just find the right shade and I can’t face (haha) trying out samples etc, but maybe you’re right about he application. Do you use a kabuki brush?

Nbee, I saw that bare minerals one online and did wonder about it. I actually have a sample of double wear liquid and have the light version in the tube. I thought they looked good too. I just wonder if something with fewer ingredients might be better while I try to figure my skin out.
