Dyson Airwrap bad smell

I bought the airwrap a few months ago but there was a revolting urine type smell coming from the hairdryer attachment bit. It took a week or so to discover that was where the smell was coming from as the bedroom really smelled and my husband/animal coming in through the window etc got the blame! Dyson replaced it without question even though I must have sounded like a crank caller! Problem is, this one smells the same too after its first use. Has anybody else had the same thing? The smell was so strong that I couldn't leave either attachment in the room.

This is so weird as I have a new Dyson hairdryer and had been trying for days to work out where the horrid damp towel / mildew type smell in my bedroom was coming from. Having pulled the room apart convinced I had a pipe leak, by chance this morning I found it, it was my hairdryer! Not the attachments but the dryer itself. I’ve trawled the internet to find out if this is a ‘thing’ and yours is the only post I have found!

That's weird, now you mention it I was convinced my cat had pissed in my bedroom, right next to my drawers - I keep my Dyson in the bottom drawer...Hmm maybe I have been blaming Dcat for no reason!

Often when using hot tools for the first couple of times there is a fairly rank plasticy burny smell to it..its from the hot points in the tool bedding in. It should stop after a few uses.

Mine has never given off a smell.
