Playsuit/jumpsuit for slender 11 year old?

Can anyone help?

We are going to a family event next weekend.

Dd doesn't have anything suitable to wear due to a recent growth spurt.

It's not massively formal, so we have decided a dressy-ish jumpsuit or playsuit would be appropriate wear.

Problem is, Dd has a very narrow frame, but is fairly tall and gangly and the ones we have tried on so far have either slipped off her shoulders, or have been baggy and therefore revealing round the chest or under the arms.

We can't size down as then the body is too short.

We are going to go to the shops again tomorrow in the city centre to try more on, but was wondering if any wise Mumsnetters could help focus our search before we go?

Have you looked at H&M? Just bought DD (10 and v tall and gangly) a nice one from there, will try and find a link for you.

Bugger, it's gone off the website, how typical is that!

Quiz have just started a petite range and we sell lots of play suits and dresses for girls of this age for weddings etc! Xxx

I've always found Monsoon a cut bit short and wide for Dd.

Never heard of Quiz Blush

Zara? That's quite slim cut

River Island or New Look, DD has the same build and they were ok for her until she had a huge growth spurt upwards.

Lipsy do a girls range and she goes to Quiz a lot but they only fit her well now she's older.

I got my daughter a lovely one from Sainsburys. It was lovely. Just got it few days ago

Whathappenedtothelego · 29/06/2019 22:48

Thanks, will check all these - had totally forgotten River Island, one of the aspirational shops of my own teenage years Grin

I found one for my slim, long backed dd(10) in H and M. It’s not on the website now, but this one looks to be the same style in a different fabric.
