And does it work for a dry ,itchy scalp?

I'm at my wit's end 🙄

Or will co washing help?

What is your har texture like?
I have afro hair, I've not done an Apple Cider Rinse, a bit scared how it will turn out but I co wash my hair and it is more gentle than shampooing, I don't do it everytime but alternate it with a proper shampoo wash.
I oil my scap a couple of times a week with Jojoba Oil which has made a huge difference to my scalp health, if you have caucasian hair I'd maybe just do it with a light touch or as a pre wash though.

Oh I could use coconut oil,I used to do that!

Caucasian hair but if left to its own devices very wiry and frizzy .

My scalp is just very dry and can be itchy. I used to use a dab L'Oréal shampoo which has been discontinued and I can't find a replacement.

I don't think it's dandruff just dry like my scalp needs moisturising.

I could try alternate days co washing ,I hadn't thought of doing that.

I like co washing as it's a really gentle way to clean your hair, but sometimes it doesn't get my hair really clean.
I think sometimes its a real trial and error with hair products, I've used some that have just recked my hair and scalp, there's only one I really like so I can feel your pain that the one you like has been discontinued, could you find it on Ebay?

LoafofSellotape · 29/06/2019 21:15

No,it's not even on eBay any longer,it's well and truly discontinued. I've just put some coconut oil round my hair line as that's where it's bad and it feels lovely! I'll leave it on all night and see if that helps 🤞

Glad it's feeling better, coconut oil is lovely. I hope it helps.
I like Jojoba oil and argan oil as well as coconut oil, they're a bit lighter than coconut oil so I alternate them depending on how my hair is. I have a very sensitive scap but very 'hardy' hair so its all a bit hit and miss.
I'm a bit nervous about cider viniger because I've heard it can strip the natural oils from you hair which can bring you back to square one, but I definately get on better with more natural products.

I'm the same, sensitive scalp but strong hair. I slept with the coconut oil on and it's all feeling much better this morning. I used a VO5 moisturising conditioner and that has really helped too. I think I'll do the coconut oil at least once a week to see if that helps. It's always just round the hairline.
