Help, I've been shopping this morning and bought the jumpsuit in the link below. Now I'm wondering whether is it suitable instead of a cocktail dress. I tried on quite a few dresses but couldn't find anything I liked as it was either prom dresses or mother of the bride...

I'm 5ft3 size 8, will try to post a picture in a bit.

Yes!!

Absolutely acceptable! Have been to quite a few black tie dos recently and loads of women wore jumpsuits. Glam up your hair and makeup, strappy heels, great clutch. You'll look amazing!!

I was going to get a jumpsuit for a dressy evening do and decided against it for practicality reasons - thought about the hassle I would go through if I needed a wee quickly (have 4DCs so bladder not what it should be) plus doing the thing up again Hmm. It looks lovely as did the one I tried on but as it was just me and DH going I didn’t feel I could ask some stranger to undo and do me up!

Thanks for the comments, now taken these pictures, it does need to be taken up a bit! I'm over 40 so trying not to dress too young.

Dude you are a size 8 and look incredible. You can wear whatever you want!!

The only thing that is going to look "too young" is mom jeans, ugly trainers and a ribbed cropped polo neck because we were wearing those the first time round.

I love it; it really suits you!

Definitely yes!

You look amazing

Thanks for the comments, I've lost 3 and 1/2 stone and was a size 14 until 18 months ago, so am a bit nervous of dressing up.

You need to add some nice jewellery to dress it up. Love the colour!

Looks lovely!!

I’d love to wear a jumpsuit as formal attire but I’m too short really.

Looks beautiful. As do you.
