does anyone use metrosa for rosacea?

I've been diagnosed with "mild rosacea" by GP and prescribed metrosa twice a day. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with it, if it's any good? My skin seems to be a mixture of a red rash and small spots, some of which come to whiteheads but some just leak a weird clear fluid if I squeeze them (which I don't do anymore). I'm just applying the gel all over my face as I can't tell what is the rosacea and what is just bad skin.
Also could anyone recommend a good, cheap face wash to help? I was using a foaming wash that made it flare up so am now using a vegan bar soap. I don't know if that's right though.
Just want to check that what I'm doing is right, I was so relieved to be diagnosed I didn't think to ask Blush I'm feeling pretty crap about my face right now so would appreciate any help.

I use metro gel, and just rub it in affected parts. I did get soolantra prescribed which works in a different way (kills dermodex mites), but you can only use for 4 months at a time.
I cleanse using simple or micellar water, when it’s inflamed I don’t want anything scented or harsh near it.
Also a max factor green concealer is good, and a good thick foundation for when it’s bad is rimmel 25hrs. I’ve read good things about Superdrug conceal & define too.

I also use metrogel but just at night as make up doesn't seem to work over the top. It works really well. My nose was bright red with bumps under the skin before I used metrogel. Now it's only red in cold weather!
I use Clinique redness solutions foundation which lasts ages and is great. At the moment using simple micellar water cleanser and clinique moisture surge moisturizers but it's the metrogel that makes the difference I think.

Yes I used it for a while. It did help a lot.
I stopped though as I didn't want to use an antibiotic long term. It's best we all stop using them unless absolutely necessary.
Cerave wash is good. Very gentle.

Some people find azeliac azid very helpful you can try that. I found it irritating but others love it.
