La Mer Foundation - overhyped?

Ive watched and studied beauty/make up bloggers/instagrammars etc. and decided to try a sample of this £90 foundation. I'm not sure it's doing anything amazing at all! Has anyone else used it?

No - but i don't like the concealer I bought from them. It's very tacky and doesn't blend well.

It’s OK but I prefer Double Wear OR if you do want to splurge, La Prairie’s foundation is beautiful and similarly priced but so worth it.

Physicians Formula do a very good dupe of La Mer...$11! I picked it up whilst in the States in a Target store. The only difference is that it doesn’t smell great unfortunately!

I really wanted to love the La Mer, Ive seen it on some celebrities I admire and i like that it also helps improve skin over time but im not sure if the final finish is any better than the Maybelline dupe I'm using for the It Cosmetics CC cream. I may try that La Prairie!

I did recently buy Double Wear, I just want to get the best foundation I can get my hands on for a luminous skin, when I use it withbthe estee lauder primer than does brighten it and I also have a sample of the la mer illuminator which I do think might be worth investing in. I've also just invested in NYX setting spray so need to have a play again with my double wear and cc dupe with that to see what looks best.
