Just been looking at the www.instagram.com/kensingtonroyal/

Since the Royal Foundation split; it’s much clearer what their focus is.
Family, children, the military, assorted royal events, mental health. Sport.

www.instagram.com/sussexroyal/
Is very much about Prince Harry, and more developing countries and Invictus. But it’s way too busy. They need to try and pack less into each photo.

More in the Metro (DM lite) about Princess Haya. It claims she's in London with her kids (the inevitable "source" told the Mail) and that she fled when she learned "the disturbing truth" about how her husband had treated his elder daughter. I find it hard to believe she only just found out though.

Just had a little rummage around the Internet and it seems unlikely Princess Haya didn't know anything about her husband's treatment of his eldest daughter. Which makes the position of both women even more shocking. I'd be frightened for my life in her shoes.

beanaseireann · 04/07/2019 07:54

I'd be frightened too that my children might be taken from me at any time.

The Vesteys make Fray Bentos pies.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/07/2019 08:14

When I was young we used to call them the 'Pesty Vesteys'!!!

Notmyrealname855 · 04/07/2019 08:26

Who are the vesteys and why are they pesty?!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/07/2019 08:31

The Vesteys are a very rich family (made their money in meat!!!). Article but who have become part of Society and friends of the RF.

Not sure why the 'pesty' except they seemed to be very high profile at one point.

I’m sure Scobie will shortly tweet about the sweet and romantic story behind keeping the godparents names private, and how Harry planned it all himself. While Meghan has absolutely no clue.

What happened to the Notting Hill Guy.? If he is still with the Cambridges; he is doing an excellent job do you mean the guy MM had her work lunch with in a Notting hill restaurant? Still around and by the looks of it, he is doing pretty well or maybe Kate and Will are smarter than they appear and are actually great managing their Image with help from others of course.

GrumbleBumble · 04/07/2019 09:34

Mulroney “definitely” won’t be a godparent? Thought that’d be a given tbh. notmyrealname Jessic Mulroney is Jewish which is probably why she is ruled out.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/07/2019 09:37

I'd say Meghan's other friend, the one whose daughters were bridesmaids is likely. I doubt one will be Serena Williams either as she's a JW.

I think Meghan is beautiful and I love her clothes (especially the green leather skirt and blouse outfit she wore late last year - stunning). I can't wait to see her outfits once she is finished her maternity leave.

However in my view she showed her true colours at Eugenie's wedding when she wore the coat buttoned in such a way that everyone was speculating about her being pregnant. Unnecessary behaviour but classic narcissist behaviour. As someone who suffered at the hands of a narcissistic mother I recognise the behaviour all too well. This silly nonsense about the godparents is all part of attention seeking behaviour as are the foot photos etc.

It's such a shame as I'm a huge fan of the Queen but Harry and Meghan risk damaging the Royal family with their silly games.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Christening outfits though!

AdaColeman · 04/07/2019 10:14

Does all the fuss about privacy for the godparents point to a high profile selection perhaps? Elton & David or Robbie Williams?

There is sure to be a leak soon! Grin

Charlotte on MadAboutMeghan has done a good post on the issue of both the godparents and the birth. With the labour thing, I suspect they just didn't think it through and so screwed up (not acceptable). With the godparents, I bet they didn't know that anyone could find out who anyone's god parents are. So this seemed perfectly reasonable to them and then it turns out... it's not.

I like both of them and I do think they're navigating a tricky path. But they need to start getting this right. More consistency. Reasonable expectations. I'll never support this idea that the public "Deserves" to know anything. But I think they can do a better job and they need to.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/07/2019 10:31

Charlotte can always be counted on to provide a balanced viewpoint.

They must have the 16 year old work experience person doing their PR.

Lexilooo · 04/07/2019 10:46

Re security Harry may have received threats but Anne (whilst out with Mark Phillips) was the victim of an attempted kidnapping where a policeman was shot and killed. I can't imagine that Archie needs any more security than Zara and Peter had.

(I love that Anne refused to co-operate with the armed kidnapper when he ordered her out of the car, she's such a badass!)

Notmyrealname855 · 04/07/2019 10:48

Wow go Anne! I’ve never heard that before!

AdaColeman · 04/07/2019 11:01

There is a famous interview of Anne & Mark talking to Parkinson about the abduction attempt in 1974, it’s probably on YouTube if you want to have a look.

QueenOfTheAndals · 04/07/2019 11:02
@Notmyrealname855. She certainly knows how to tell a story!
OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 04/07/2019 11:03

A few policemen were shot and wounded during the attempted kidnapping but none were killed, fortunately.

Right to know mentality is mental.

He’s the grandson of the literal head of the Church of England how could they not know. They have teams of people who’s job it is to advise them. They come from a long-standing institution that has been managing these situations for centuries.

Naivety is simply not plausible.

motheroftinydragons · 04/07/2019 11:27

What is it the Queen famously says? "Never complain, never explain"

They'd be wise to follow her experienced lead, IMO.

I like them. I think they're in a difficult position, the vitriol directed at Meghan is inexcusable, and given Harry's experience of the press I can't blame him for despising them. However they're making things harder on themselves by announcing that they're not announcing things.

The public do not 'have a right' to anything regarding Archie. He's a baby ffs. A wholly innocent child who has no idea what he's been born into or the expectations placed on him. Good on them for keeping him well out of it. I would. In their position I would announce nothing regarding him, and just release a few pictures of their choosing on special days, when they choose to keep the paps away like W&K do.

I also think they keep doing black and white or filtered shots of him because people (or the media) are baying to know what skin tone he has or what hair colour/texture. It's despicable. People can say Meghan isn't experiencing racism but there is certainly a bit of an obsession of what this little one looks like because of his mother's heritage. Honestly it's 2019, who bloody cares?
