What do you think of this JL Kin dress? Tried it on today but couldn't work out if it was nice or crazy. Bought it but may return it!

No. Sorry OP I really don’t like it. It’s even awful on the model.

It sort of reminds me of the polyester housecoat my Granny used to wear over he clothes to do the house work - exactly what I thought too.

Perhaps you could put your hair in rollers at the front, wrap a polyester scarf around the rest of it and carry a feather duster? Ya know, do the look properly?

It's the sort of dress that most people will look at and recoil in horror but fashionable on trend types will think is wonderful.

I don’t really like it, and I’m a bit of a fashion spend thrift!

It’s not classic enough to get decent wear out of it. But it’s not trendy/nice enough to warrant a few wears for one season either.

I'm trying to think what sort of shape that dress would look good on.

Nope.

IThrewItOnTheGround · 27/06/2019 12:16

I don't mind the colours, actually, but it looks like its the wrong length for that style, i.e. it should be midi and have a belted waist. It's just short enough that it looks like it could be a shirt, or one of those comedy Scrooge nightgowns that you wear with a tasselled nightcap and accessorise with a candleholder.

growlingbear · 27/06/2019 12:18

I'm not keen on it styled as it is. I might wear it over jeans and chunky ankle boots in the autumn
