How often do you look your 'best'?

... And what do you consider to be 'looking your best'?

A bit of background to add context: I grew up in a very weird family, where if I was caught washing my face/brushing my teeth twice a day (and I had to do this stuff in secret), comments such as 'who are you trying to impress?' would be made. When my mates were wearing tank-tops, I weren't allowed to wear those 'tart' clothes. Make-up was a no-no.

Anyway, over the last couple of years I've started coming into my own style, wearing what I want, making an effort etc, but sometimes I slip back into wearing clothes that are comfortable, but I don't feel good in. And it pisses me off lol, and I feel frustrated. It's almost like I need to motivate myself to not look and dress frumpy and urgh.

Does anyone else have these days? am I just very odd lol?

I look my best probably twice a month when meeting friends for dinner or going ‘out out’ - the rest of the time I look somewhere between awful and okay.

I saw a meme lately that said 'I'm either done up, or looking like I've been dragged through a bush backwards.' This is me but recently I've tried to make more of an effort on a daily basis, so a bit of make up and jeans instead of trackies and a cardigan and tee shirt instead of a baggy jumper because I'm probably the worst dressed mum at the school. I know what you mean about having to motivate yourself!!!

I tend to make an effort most days. When I'm wearing comfy clothes, they're 'nice' comfy, if you know what I mean. Jeggings, and a Nice hoodie, and fancy trainers, big hoops, light makeup. Or skinnies, converse, close-fitting vest top, bomber jacket - that kind of stuff.

As for 'looking my best', when I'm all done up to the nines - perhaps twice a month? If I'm lucky. :D

I try every day.

I wouldn’t leave the house without looking what I consider “the best I can look” - makeup, nice clothes, hair washed and dried, perfume. It takes about 30 minutes, including shower/hair wash. At home I am an absolute pig, tracky-bums, sweatshirt, fake Uggs, no makeup. I am either on or off, no middle ground.

I'm the same as Judy, if I leave the house I try to love how I look. As most of the time I'm at home its nice to have the on/off difference I find Smile

Karl Flowers there are days I feel like that too, but then I look in the mirror, tell myself I'm worth it and put on one of my favorite pretty pairs of shoes and ignore any doubts I have.

I have noticed that since I've shaped up my skincare and for the first time ever have perfect skin all the time, everything I wear looks infinitely better, even when I'm slobbing at home I still look vaguely glam. Very weird side effect Confused
