Growing hair

I’ve had v short hair in a asymmetrical style with a shaved bit over one ear and longer fringe for a while - now I want to grow it, and have a style in mind.

How do I get through the inevitable bit where it looks shit for 6 months? Is the an interim style that helps?

My hair is thick, wavy and has a mind of its own.

I go through phases of having really short hair, growing it out and then chopping it off. Very annoying. A good hairdresser should help.

Now I think with thicker wavy hair you can get away with more whilst it grows out. Let it grow for a while then get a hairdresser to help with a style for between lengths.
I had an inverted bob which I started growing out since last March, the layers have nearly all gone as has the bob but it's at that annoying shoulder length where it keeps sticking out. Another couple of inches and it'll be fine but jeez!

But how do I stop the inevitable triangular bush head 😭😭

You can't. Wear a scarf ;)
