Anyone used stitch fix?

I just signed up for this as the clothes being shown on their ad looked great.
I wanted smart casual edgy and a bit eclectic- the kind of stuff you see in boutiques hidden in nice towns.

Went through the whole profiling thing and signed up and paid and then it offered me a thumbs up and thumbs down bit to do for a variety of pieces of clothes and a shoes.

They were all VILE!
Really frumpy and horrible colours.
Not me at all and nothing like the clothes that I had seen in their ads.

Is this because my profile was middle aged woman with an apple shape and no tits and so the software has gone aha link to frumpy beige cardigans and purple acrylic coats......

Has anyone used them and what did they send you?

I tried it. Signed up for the same reason - to try products other than the standard stuff from the high street. I specifically asked for no polyester and no frills and flounces. Of course, everything they sent me was either polyester or high street or frilly or all of the above. Won’t be trying it again.

Oh bloody @BabCNesbitt really?

Ugh wonder if I can cancel in advance.
They claimed good quality and plenty of no high street names. Should have known better shouldn’t I.

There are quite a few of these stylist pic sites now- I assume they are all as bad as each other then?

@Yawn, are you so far from any town with a few decent independent shops? Seriously, I live in the rural southwest (100 miles from Bristol, Bath or any shopping centres) and I can think of three small towns that offer decent boutiques within 40 minutes drive.

Agree -it was bl**dy awful. I tried it and was not encouraged by the clothes they ask you to rate either. And they included loads of polyester too, which I hate. Never again! Just need to put the leg work in myself really as I know what I like...

I haven’t used them but M&S offered a similar service a few months ago so I signed up for that.

The very first set of recommendations said that because of my height (very short) I was best suited to their petite sizes but as they didn’t have anything in stock they would suggest X, Y and Z instead, all of which were several inches too long and would have absolutely swamped me.

I think they are just marketing ploys dressed up as a service and not very well executed.

When I want new ideas or to try new looks I use the John Lewis personal shopping service. It’s free and the stylists there often suggest things I would have passed by on the shop floor. It’s great for when I am stuck in a fashion rut.
