10 legs, 12 waist, which jeans?

Advise please, I have size 10 legs but a 'thicker' waist so size 12 there. Any jeans 👖 recommendations, skinny preferably please? If I get a 10 they are tight on the tummy! 12 baggy on the leg! Xxx

You need to go to shops that probably offer classic / slightly smaller sizes. H&M, 7 for Mankind, Topshop (skinnies - you should try the 10 and 12).

I'm similar, but I'm bigger, with 12/14 legs and a 16 waist.

I read somewhere that you should buy jeans to fit your legs and then have panels put in the waist. I have a pair of 14, extremely expensive, jeans which I am currently too fat for. Phoned a highly recommended tailor and she said she wouldn't put panels in jeans and I should just sell them and buy a bigger pair! So bang went that theory.

I have found Topshop Joni (skinny) jeans quite a good fit for me. You would need to try both sizes, but IME the waist does tend to be generous compared to legs.

If you find out how the devil to buy decent fitting non-skinnies with the same problem though, please let me know!

Snap op!

Oasis mid rise skinnies will be your friend. Try Jade (just not the dark wash as seemingly they're cheap and naff!).

I avoid high waisted as they cut in.

JMAngel1 · 23/06/2019 17:20

What about size 10 maternity jeans as they have an adjustable waist?
Or size 10 really low rise jeans so they sit alsmost on your hips?
Or absolute skinny skin tight jeans size 12 so that they fit on your legs?
Or go for loose trendy boyfriend/girlfriend styles in a 12 as it won't matter if they're baggy?

I have this shape 12 waist and 10 hip, I can't tell you money I have waisted over the years, to get a good fit on the bum they are always to tight on the waist, I recently in debenhams sale got some Levi's Jean's, I think they are the slim style, and they are generous on the waist so fit me well in the 10.

lottieleo · 23/06/2019 19:51

I'm sure I read next now do in between size jeans like size 11 and 13 might be worth a try

Bringonspring · 23/06/2019 19:53

I live Jamie jeans from top shop (I have tried really expensive ones and still come back to these)

KnitFastDieWarm · 23/06/2019 20:30

I have the opposite problem - my hips are much bigger than my waist - and I just buy cheap jeans and tailor them. So in my case, I buy them to fit my hips and then take them in at the waist. You could buy them to fit your waist and then take the legs in at the seams, or get a tailor to do to for you. It’s easier with cheaper/thinner fabric but it’s a wearing jeans that fit!

fraxion · 23/06/2019 21:01

What about Next 360 jeans? I love them, so comfy.

Blankspace4 · 23/06/2019 21:04

I’d go for River Island’s Molly ‘jeggings’. I’m mid 30s and don’t otherwise shop at RI but these are fantastic and I have 3 pairs in different colours. They are a slim, soft fit and very stretchy so I’d recommend trying both a 10 and a 12 and seeing what you prefer (I’m also between both). Good luck!

Thanks ladies, some good advice, best start trying on! Xxx

This would be the holy grail for me - jeans that fit my quite slim body but a body that doesn't have much of a defined waist.... jeans that fit the thighs are baggy round the bum!

teta · 24/06/2019 09:21

Nydj are good for me as I have the same issue .I've actually given up buying any others .I snap them up when I see them . Currently online in Tk Maxx and Brand Alley.

DramaRamaLlama · 24/06/2019 09:28

I find ted baker good for this - their waists always come up generous which is a perfect for me

shinynewapple · 24/06/2019 09:32

I have some Asda wonderfit jeans which are really stretchy and cover two sizes. I think a small covers 10-12 as I have medium which is 14/16. They come in a couple of different washes and black - the small and medium tend to sell out quickly in-store but they may have online.

fraxion · 24/06/2019 11:04

I have a few pairs of Levi's curve skinny jeans from a few years back. They were fantastic but they stopped making that line. Slight curve was perfect for me.
