Summer work shoes?

MsJaneAusten · 22/06/2019 21:49

I’m 99% sure I post a variation of this every summer but I’ve never cracked it so I’m going to try again...

Any recommendations for smart, comfortable shoes that can be worn without tights in the summer? I teach so am on my feet all day: they can’t be too high or too ostentatious. Just smart, comfortable shoes that won’t make me look like my granny. Please?

I like the fly london yuna. Looks good, comfy, not granny. On my second pair.

I work in a pretty smart office and have some pointed red slingbacks that I am wearing a lot at the moment. Alternatively just smart leather wedge sandals, which if worn with a smart dress or skirt seem fine. If I’m going to a v formal meeting I do struggle in summer for smart shoes, so end up in court shoes, no tights.

Clarks is having a 50% off sale this weekend, might be worth a look.

I also teach and just bought 3 pairs of work sandals.

Since you post this ever year chances are you are becoming your granny. Accept it, you are old now 😂

I'm living in loafers at the moment. White ones, leopard print ones, navy ones. Love them (particularly the white ones).

In your kind of role, standing lots, I would go for what’s best for comfort and health, and not worry too much about the granny thing!

Eg to protect your joints, help posture, prevent plantar facsitis!

Silver brogues with trainer liners. Go with everything and comfy as.

I'm also a teacher and swear by Hotter Jewel. They're like slippers. I have 5 pairs which I alternate: red, black, navy and two different patterned pairs for summer.
