Bag and shoes same colour- complete no-no?

I'm getting married in August after 20 years with my partner. Very small wedding- 2 guests and a nice lunch. I'm wearing a (green silk) dress I already own and have bought some gold shoes. I've just realised that all the suitable bags I have are gold as well- I've got a couple of gold clutches that would be good apart from the matchy-matchyness of it.

Is that a disaster? Really it doesn't matter does it? I just don't want to look back at ( probably just one or two ) photos and think, "Why did I wear that?"

I must be old-fashioned, I was brought up thinking shoes & bag always matched but at contrast to the rest of the outfit.

I would have thought shoes and bag matching was a good thing.
